The natives are restless in Oakland

Seeing that the residents in Oakland can't protest over how bad their sports teams are, I guess rioting over the shooting of a person they don't even know could be a close second. If you all haven't heard by now, blacks in Oakland are destroying their communities over the verdict that was handed down by the jury in the case of a white police officer Johannes Mehserle convicted of murdering Oscar Grant last year.. The officer was convicted of manslaughter and will face a maximum of four years in prison. The sentence wasn't enough for the "civilized" thugs of Oakland, so they decided to take to the streets in a non violent show of dismay. Ah who am I kidding, they broke into stores and looted them in the name of "justice"?

I'm not exactly sure how breaking into the stores of merchants who had nothing to do with the shooting of Oscar Grant and stealing their merchandise is suppose to be a valid expression of displeasure over the verdict. I have a crazy theory. Could it be that the hoodlums of Oakland really could care less about Oscar Grant and just wanted to use what happened to him as an excuse to steal and vandalize people's property? Nah, it couldn't be that dam simple. It is so ironic that in this video a young black male is saying in a megaphone to be "non violent" and the next thing you hear is the glass to a foot locker store being broken. As Obama once said, this is a "teachable moment". Black are bigger hypocrites when it comes to racial issues then white liberals are. If the young black unarmed man Oscar Grant was shot and killed by a black Oakland street thug, Oscar would have been a five second story on the nightly Oakland News and that would have been it. 83 people wouldn't have been arrested. This wouldn't have been a national story. There wouldn't have been no riots etc etc etc. This fact really can't be disputed. The teachable moment with the riots in Oakland as with the riots that happened in South Central Los Angeles is crystal clear. A black person's life really doesn't have much value until that person is killed by a white person. Allow me to further illustrate my point. I doubt that if Rodney King was beaten up by seven or ten young black men with sticks, his beating wouldn't have been a national story.Try this one on for size. Hundred of black men and woman are killed on the streets of America every year. Their murders aren't at the hands of the Klu Klux Klan, the Aryan Nation or rogue police officers. Their murderers are other blacks mainly young black men. I'm sure there are people foaming at the mouth reading this. All I can say is "prove me wrong". The dark reality is that in 2010, blacks have more to fear from young black males then from any other racial group in this country. In the hip hop culture, black rappers glorify killing other black men. This is a "song" by a rapper known as "Mobb Deep". Listener discretion is advised.

Let me get back to the shooting case of Mr. Grant for a moment. Mr. Johannes Mehserle should go to jail for what he did. Accident or not, there is no excuse. In the heat of the moment could Mr. Mehserle have mistaken his teaser for his gun? It is possible, but it just happened to be a fatal judgment call. That doesn't give blacks in Oakland the green light to act like savage idiots. The old saying is that each generation is suppose to become weaker and wiser. With young blacks, that doesn't seem to be the case at all. As a black male, it was beyond embarrassing watching blacks in South Central Los Angeles destroying their city over a two bit hood rat drunk who was beaten by the LAPD. Now I have to watch black men making fools out of themselves yet again over an incident that wasn't racist in nature. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the election of Barack Obama suppose to have ushered in the era of "post racial harmony" or something like that?

Sadly what you wrote is true. I'm annoyed with the hypocrisy displayed by many blacks when it comes to race.
There was a news story about a young white man who was viciously beaten for dating a young black woman.
His attackers were black and what sickened me more than anything was the racism from some blacks saying the young man deserved it. I'm sick of black folks acting like they cannot be racist. I admit the cop did deserve to do some prison time for shooting a young black man.

Growing up in Baltimore, I've seen first hand how blacks treated Korean and Jewish merchants Sojournerlove. I knew some of the Korean merchants personally in my old neighborhood. They were some really decent folks. I've seen blacks in the neighborhood come into the stores as I was talking to the Koreans and purposely degrade them and mock them based on their language. The only sin these merchants committed was trying to make a living in Baltimore City. The irrational argument that black and white liberals make about how blacks can't be racist makes as much sense as 1+1=5. Maybe they feel that if they keep repeating their nonsense enough times, others will be dumb enough to buy into it as well.Sojournerlove, is the white guy who was beaten going to recover?

He survived thank God but he can't talk to good is what I have heard. He knows the attack was racially motivated. As for the Lethal altercation between Oscar Grant and the Police Officer only God knows what was in the heart of that police officer.

There is no justification for law-breaking. The Looters and Rioters ought to be ashamed of themselves using a tragedy to justify their actions.

Well I hope that guy has a speedy recovery. We both know that if the attackers were white and the man black and the woman white, the media and everybody else would have labeled it a hate crime. Are they classifying the attack on the white guy a hate crime Sojournerlove? I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that they aren't.

I wonder if the members of the Uhuru House Movement who called the criminal Lovelle Mixon who shot and killed four Oakland police officers were amongst the crowd members looting?
Anyway, if Officer Johannes Mehserle conviction wasn't enough, he killed an unarmed man, and he has to live with that for the rest of his life. Isn't that punishment enough?

I wrote a letter to Ethnically Speaking with black columnist Larry Meeks, about a year ago and asked him as to why these so-called black leaders are more concerned about crimes and police activities that involve white and blacks than they are about blacks who commit crimes against other blacks and here was his response:

"It is no secret that 95 percent of crimes that happen to blacks are committed by other blacks.
When the police arrest blacks for crimes, the people who are being protected the most are other blacks. Said another way, crimes against blacks could be reduced 95 percent if blacks stopped preying on one another, and when black criminals are arrested, the police should be praised for protecting the black community.

If black leaders said this, they would lose their following. They maintain their standing by taking information and twisting it so blacks believe they are not responsible.

That is why people like Bill Cosby must be discredited (for speaking out against blacks who act irresponsibly). If Cosby's opinion prevailed, the black leadership would be destroyed.

Black leaders have become famous and wealthy by making certain people believe they are hopeless without their leadership."

In another letter to Meeks I asked him why some blacks have a problem with black police officers or any other blacks stopping another black person for doing something illegal are condemned and called "Uncle Toms". Here is his response:

Here’s the hypocrisy:
A few months after these cases, a black man was all hawked up on cocaine and was running around naked shouting obscenities. A white sheriff’s deputy responds to the call and tried to wrestle the man to the ground; his gun fell out of his holster. The man grabs the deputy’s gun and shoots the deputy, killing him instantly. The suspect hours later called and turned himself to authorities without more incidents.
After the arrest, Seattle’s black leaders held a press conference and contend that the man who shot the deputy had nothing to do with race. What’s more shocking, while this man was being arraigned, members in the black community held signs and banners in support of this murderer outside the courthouse and the courtroom.

I always ask the same questions and never ever get a response from a black person whom makes these complaints: “What if, in each of these cases, if the roles were reversed?”

I live in Seattle and for the past decade, the Seattle police and King County Sheriff's department have come under fire. One famous case was the WTO riots when the police tried to restore order against a bunch of protestors. However, here are a few cases when it came to the police and black criminal(s):

• One case was a black man who was mentally unstable and was wielding a Samurai sword. The police tried to subdue the man with rubber bullets and bean bags, which did not help. Their last option was to use a fire hose on him to pin him down, which worked.
• Another black man with mental issues was wielding a knife and held up a grocery store and was followed by Seattle Police on foot and continued to swing the blade. Caught on news cameras, one of the cops shot the man with a gun; he died instantly.
• Two Seattle police officers shot and killed a black man who tried to drag one of the police officers and run the other down moments after he robbed a convenient store.
• An off-duty Sherriff’s deputy went to confront a vehicle that was blocking a public driveway that was occupied by two black men and a white woman. One of the men pulled a gun on the deputy, but the deputy, whom was already armed, shot him dead.
In each of these cases, Seattle’s black leaders complained that each of these cases was “racially motivated”. With the Samurai Man case, their complaint was, though they did not kill the man, but it opened “old wounds” because it reminded them of the Civil Rights riots down south when blacks were attacked by dogs and fire hoses. As for the case of the sheriff’s deputy, black leaders led a march out onto Interstate 5 blocking traffic and crashed several tailgate parties at a Seahawks game and began heckling white fans who were leaving the game.

I could not believe it when about an hour after the verdict on channel 2 KTVU, a man said that if it were Mixon on the stand he would have been found guilty because he was black.

Mixon was the man who shot four Oakland Officers in March 2009 and was killed on scene as he continued to fire at officers.

Try to wrap your mind around that logic.
