Obama tells the Congressional Black Caucus to "Stop mumbling, crying and complaining.

I wonder will the Congressional Black Caucus ever realize that they are nothing more then foot soldiers for the Democratic Party and nothing more. They have no power and they have no influence within the party. They are in essence a black shell group with three letters on it's letterhead to make them seem more important then what they really aren't. Even Barack Obama knows this. That's why when he addressed the CBC as few days ago, he told them to take off their bedroom slippers and put on their marching boots. Obama has been criticized by the Congressional Black Caucus for ignoring them in the past. As Obama's soaring economy continues to impact blacks in record numbers, he's been silent on the issue, and that has caused blacks to actually start to question their support for him. Well Obama heard the "cries" of the CBC, but he didn't take responsibility for his policies having a negative impact on blacks. This is what his message to the CBC was instead. Besides telling blacks via the CBC to "stop crying, mumbling and complaining", he said he expect the CBC to march with him. Typical Obama, he wants his supporters to do for him, but he can care less about them. I've never known for Obama to say to his non black special interests allies to stop their complaining, mumbling and crying. I know he doesn't take that tone with his wealthy progressive friends at his $35,000 a plate fund raisers. I also know he doesn't say those words, when he's speaking at other special interest group gatherings. He said what he said in front of the CBC for a reason. He knows the blacks are his most die hard supporters, and he knows that he can talk trash to them, and they will still support him to the end. That was proven by the ovation he received as he was telling them to stop crying and complaining . Imagine if a Republican would have gotten in front of the CBC and told them that, even if the Republican was black. Flunkies are known for be accepting of verbal abuse as long as they like the person who is giving it to them. I can't say that all members of the CBC are flunkies in this case. One black progressive kook actually had enough sense for once to stand up and call out Obama for what he said. Maxine "tea party can go to hell" Waters wasn't clapping during Obama's scolding of the CBC , and she questioned his "choice of words"on the CBS Early Show. I can't believe I am in agreement with Kerosene Maxine. I suppose hell can freeze over for a minute or so. This is what Maxine doesn't understand. Obama and the Democratic Party know they will always have the majority of the black vote. By them knowing this, they know they will never have to do anything of substance to earn it. It's a known given by the party. Put it another way, "WHY DO THEY NEED TO BUY THE BLACK COW, WHEN THEY'VE BEEN GETTING THE BLACK MILK FOR FREE FOR OVER FORTY FIVE YEARS"? The Hispanic vote isn't a guaranteed lock yet as it pertains to the percentages that blacks vote Democrat, ,so the Democrats have to actually do things for them unlike with blacks. I wrote in a previous post what the Democratic Party expects of the CBC. Obama just came out and said.

Know their role aka "I expect you all to march with me"

Shut the hell up aka "shake it off, stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying"

Do what we say aka "take off your bedroom slippers and put on your marching shoes"

CB;"They (the C.B.C.) have no power and they have no influence within in party. They are in essence a black flunky group with three letters on it's letterhead to make them seem more important then what they really aren't".

lol...

As if the National Black Republican Association forces the right wing agenda? Hell, the Tea Party has forged a Republican agenda in a little less than 2 years. The NBRA is what, a 15..., 25+ year old "BLACK" political organization, and how many blacks (or anyone for that matter) have they got elected to congress?

And what successful political agenda has the NBRA promoted within the Republican Party? The only efforts I know of, are the promo billboards and radio commercials declaring that MLK was a Republican, and an asinine effort to sue the Democratic Party for Jim Crow Laws.

And what has the NBRA done for Americans, let alone Black Americans! I just thought I'd take a look at the NBRA website. What you find is a superabundance of attacks on Democrats, "BLACK DEMOCRATS." Most of the reading consists of how "bad Black Democrats are", and how "racist" blacks are. Do you really believe rhetoric of that type is appealing to black voters? Blacks calling other Blacks "flunkies, racist, unethical and the like. Who do you think it would appeal to?

Compare that to the C.B.C. Foundation website, where they are promoting Research Programs,
Internships, Fellowships, Scholarships and Development. Additionally, just this past summer, the CBC sponsored "Jobs Fairs" throughout the country.

There's another "conservative black" public policy and political group called Project 21. Funny thing about this "Black Conservative" organization. It's director is this guy, David Almasi. Kinda' strange looking "Black guy", don't cha' think?

Okay, lets say the CBC's efforts are all a sham, and they really are, as you claim, "flunkies." With all I just cited;

-the NBRA having no visible political clout, helping no one get elected, doing nothing for the black community, and, an organization that calls itself "The National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives" that has a white guy as it's director-.

If the CBC is a "band of flunkies", Black Conservatives have to be something even worse... (eg., grovelers, houseboys, bootlickers, apparatchiks, etc...) I'm jes guessing...

FJ "As the "moral conscience of the Congress" isn't whining and complaining what the CBC is SUPPOSED to do????"

Now that I think about it, you're right FJ. They are simply leaving up to what congress is all about. lol

You like to compare apples and oranges allen, then go right ahead. First off, the Tea Agenda is at odds with the Republican establishment agenda. Hell it was your very own progressives who blamed the TEA PARTY and NOT the republicans on the S&P downgrade of our credit rating. Second, the NBRA isn't an association in congress, non of it's members are black members of congress. I can care less that the NBRA has been around for 25 years. After all this time allen, you should know that unlike you, I am not a party loyalist. I will however give the NBRA credit. At least they are honest enough to display that they are a black republican organization. The Congressional Black Caucus tries to give the false impression that it is simply an organization for black members of congress regardless of political affiliation.

You tell me allen, Is the NBRA a black lobbyist group? If they aren't then, the answer should be obvious. Never mind allen. Next time do your research. This is what the NBRA is all about. The mission statement of the National Black Republican Association. The organization is about educating blacks on the Republican Party. Wow, you thought you had me checkmated just to find out you tried to compare the CBC with an organization that is nowhere even close to be similar to what the CBC is about. Do your research, thanks for the laugh.

Why should I care allen? I don't even follow Project 21. The director isn't black, ok. The founder of the the NAACP's Arizona Chapter was white, so what's your point?

p allen "If the CBC is a "band of flunkies", Black Conservatives have to be something even worse... (eg., grovelers, houseboys, bootlickers, apparatchiks, etc...) I'm jes guessing...

Wrong again allen. This is where I stick a tiny pin truth into your huge balloon of nothing. Here's the differences between the CBC, then NBRP and Project 221. The CBC is the only organization that has members in congress. The C stands for "CONGRESSIONAL" allen. So you can't put the NBRA and Project 21 on the same level as them and actually expect to be taken seriously. So it comes back to what is the CBC's role in congress? We know the Tea Party Caucus will stand up the Republican Establishment, when has the CBC ever done the same. That is where the flunky claim applies to them.

Apples and oranges, reread what I wrote. Speaking of that jobs fair. The CBC jobs fair was only giving out INFORMATION WHERE PEOPLE CAN GO TO APPLY!! LOL
Speaking of the CBC "jobs fair"<a

" The Atlanta job fair featured help finding work with the federal government, GI Bill and veterans' job training, help for job seekers over age 55, and advice on interviewing, along with offering direct contact with potential employers.

In other words allen. The CBC job fairs aren't about hooking up applicants with private sector employers for actually job positions. They are nothing more then a RESOURCE event to try and stir people towards applying for government positions. lol
