The difference between Capitalism and Socialism

Capitalism is about fulfilling the needs in the market place based on what consumers want. Socialism is about the government telling you what you need and then making sure that you have to get it from them. United Parcel Service, Federal Express and Airborne deliver packages all over the world and do so making a profit at it. The Postal Services lose billions of dollars a year and is constantly raising their prices.  If I needed a business website created, I would hire the best web company to design and build it. When the story came out that the technology to build the Obamacare website is at least 10 years old, I just shook my head. No private company would have ever done something like that, because competition is what brings out the best in companies that are competing with other companies for consumers. The other day, my LG Android phone was downloading all the updates, and I just watched it do it's thing for awhile in astonishment. I look at the Obamacare website as a clear reminder of why the private sector is good at what it does and the public sector should stay out of it.

Liberals create and compound problems. Then they blame their inefficient ideas on conservatives.

Conservative alert the public about engaging in personal responsiblity & advancing themselves and society.

Long-time reader, first comment.

Too often we play a team sport, as if it's the NFL or NHL or NBA or MLB. I'm originally from Chicago. I like the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and Cubs. But I also believe in the Bill of Rights. There's a big difference between voting for a Daley (or Emanuel, or Byrne or Washington or whoever), and pulling for the Blackhawks. This is real life. I don't even play Fantasy Football, because the real NFL is so far removed from my reality, I don't need a fantasy team. Too often today we argue for fantasies, reality be damned.

But in real life, people lose jobs. They lose health insurance. They lose dignity. Why? Because they are voting for their TEAM. That's right. The TEAM is more important than reality. Success requires hard work, but the (D) team needs voting victims. The (R) team wants hard-working survivors who are willing to endure media-endorsed slurs. And then the media champion the "victims" because that's what sells.

God Bless the USA. Please.

Congrats on figuring that out. So easy, even a caveman can follow it.

Every politician wants "victims", no matter what their party. You just choose which party you want to be victimized by.

Both Parties are irreverent. They both like to spend our money just for different things. One party may spend faster then the other but no matter as we are slaves to the idea of Government. What would we do without them. Become mindless animals over night, I doubt it.

My own mind is set to both Liberal and Conservative. The terms have been misused. Socially Liberal as in "Mind Your Own Business" were as private should remain private. Just because people should have a natural right to do as they please dose not mean there is no moral responsibility involved. Keep it in the bedroom, do not make it a public affair and do no harm unto others. I am Conservative with tradition and money. I keep to my Christian values which remain unchanged and I save my money and live simple. In my heart, I am a Voluntarist and believe in no Government.

(D)s victimize poor and minorities who vote for policies to redistribute wealth, the result of which is continued power for rich liberals and fewer opportunies for poor and minorities. (R)s victimize middle class and wealthy of all races who value personal responsibility and economic growth, but establishment (R)s ultimately want more power and more government. Hence, the tea party (small caps because it's a movement, not a party), which resists victimization altogether. True Conservatism values individual freedom. Liberalism leads to Big Brother. Orwell would be proud.
