In the "error" of "Hope and Change, it looks like we are well on our way.
It breaks my heart to watch this, but this is something people really need to learn from. Obama's reckless spending is already causing inflationary pressure at the wholesale level. People that have money invested for retirement better take note. You can't protect the valuation of your money from inflation. Inflation is almost like puring acid on your money and watching it dissolve right in front of your eyes. Japan is called an industrialized power, yet look at the valuation of the Yen. Imagine a day when the dollar will be worth a quarter. Notice that oil prices are going back up, yet the demand has stayed low due to the worldwide recession. Oil prices act inversely to the fluctuation in the dollar. This is the bottom line as best as I can put it. The recovery of the economy is the least of the problems Americans have to worry about.

Tyrone, have you lost all semblance of honest and thoughtful punditry? Is it the fact that your candidate (the "Republican") lost the election? Or, is it that your hatred is so deep for Barack Obama, so much so, that you're willing to go to any lengths, and literally say anything to besmirch his presidency?
Grant it, internal political struggles are key to the problems in Zimbabwe. Yet, it was the sanctions imposed by the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act of 2001 has had a disastrous effect on the Zimbabwe economy.
In essence, I really can't see how your essay has any relevance to America's economic woes.
The U.S. is not a fledgling society that was once bound to a racist minority. The U.S. has not been mired in armed civil uprisings, wide spread guerrilla warfare, political assassinations, massacres or human rights abuses. The U.S. does not subjugate it's workers and business, suppresses freedom of the press and freedom of speech.
Furthermore, unless you are implying that the above stated tragedies are "inevitable" under President Obama's administration, the Zimbabwe example is absolute nonsense!
Here is an article written by Mduduzi Mathuthu this past January. Mathuthu is the writer and editor of newzimbabwe.com. I'd think that a Zimbabwean might know better why his country is suffering more so than you.
He also says that he and other Zimbabweans are "pessimistic" about Obama’s presidency, and other U.S. policies as it applies to his country. It also might be of some interest to you that Mr. Mathuthu is a Christian and he "hates" his president too!

You're the last person to talk about honesty allen.lol The story I did was on inflation in Zimbabwe and how it could impact our economy. Our country experienced high inflation under Jimmy Carter. This is well known allen. How inflation happened in Zimbabwe and how it is happening in America may be different and they may be similar. As for sanctions hurting Zimbabwe, now who's being honest? When Mugabe and his thugs stole the land from the white farmers, the fertile farm land went baron. The skill and know how to produce on that land left with the farmers as they were running for their lives. So when you talk about "sanctions", BE HONEST for the reasons for the sanctions in the first place.

1. The armed civil uprising was known as the REVOLUTIONARY WAR.
2. Political assassinations-Abraham Lincoln, John F Kennedy, Robert Kennedy.
4. Though our country didn't have Guerrilla style war, it did have a CIVIL WAR.
5. As for massacres, 3000 people that were killed on 911 accounts for that allen.

The fairness doctrine isn't freedom of speech allen. Obama wanting to cap the pay on executives in the private sector is oppression to businesses.

Didn't you read what the Zimbabwean columnist said? The Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act of 2001 has already a major contributor to the economic woes of Zimbabwe. The worst of their problems began after the U.S. legislation and sanctions began.
Problems began in Zimbabwe after they forced all of the whites out. The black man gave thebfarms to his buddies who knew nothing about farming only killing. After the whites left, the country went broke. Once it was one of the best run nations in Africa. America didnt do it. There were parts of Europe where during the middle-ages (aka, "Dark Ages") almost nothing was written, drawn nor culturally output. Secondly, you must understand that "the victors write history", which becomes basically...HIS-STORY!
In the recent century, defeated nations have been allowed to keep a semblance of the cultural backgrounds, writings and historic teachings. However, no where, and at no time in history has the conqueror attempted to preserve the culture, writings and history of the conquered people.
That being said, what you make you think that a people who were "enslaved" by the conqueror would be allowed to even "think" for themselves, let alone preserve their writings, culture, religion, or language??
