Romney heads to New Orleans to survey the damage while Obama is heading to Texas?
Ok, I am confused. For the past few days, I've heard story after laughable story about how this all mighty Category "1" Hurricane Issac was so similar to the Category "5" Hurricane Katrina seven years ago. Since Hurricane Issac was on track for the gulf region at the same time the GOP convention was happening, you know the saying "A crisis is a terrible thing to waste politically". So the media brought up Bush's name repeatedly during Issac's path to the gulf region. This was their thinking behind doing it.
Bush=Katrina (and not caring about black folks)
Issac=GOP Convention (that don't care about black folks possibly dying because of Issac)
Well now the potential political blessing known as Hurricane Issac (at least in the mind of the Democrats) is now just a tropical depression. It did do a lot of flooding but no major loss of life. I know David Axelrod, Obama and the rest of the media are banging their fists that Issac the barely Category 1 hurricane couldn't have done more damage. This has to be the first time in my memory that I've ever seen the media pay so much attention to such a weak storm. A few days ago, Dear Leader tried to exploit Issac, saying that "there's not republican nor democrat victims". So what about the victims now that Issac is gone? Well today, Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney will be in New Orleans surveying the damage. As for Mr Obama. he will be in Texas. The White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said that Obama will check out the damage on Monday. Since Issac didn't do the damage he and his supporters wanted, Louisiana and New Orleans can take a three day back seat I suppose.

Bush did not handle the Katrina incident very well. So, he gets called a racist by the likes of Kanye West and other race-baiters.
Hypothetically, let's say if Isaac was a category 5 hurricane. How would Obama reacted to this? Like the Bush administration who were slow to respond to the aftermath of Katrina, would they simply forgive Obama?
Romney took the time to survey New Orleans while Obama heads to Texas? That's not very considerate of the POTUS to do. Thankfully, the Isaac did not do too much damage, but I'm pretty sure that the citizens of New Orleans will not change their opinion of Obama.
So Romney is a hero for going to N.O.L.A. while Obama is inconsiderate for not going until Monday? But in the same breath you say that it's the democrats that can't waste a political crisis? At the risk of oversimplifying your views, you're a hypocritical jerk.
Conservatives are hamstrung with the idea that government is not the answer to the problems that the American people might face. After Katrina the conservatives blamed the democrat governor and mayor. Most shockingly they blamed the people for not doing enough to save themselves. But what does Mitt Romney do when he's told by 22 year old mother of two Ashley Vegas, whose home was destroyed by a 12-foot wall of water, and whose bare feet contrasted oddly with his suede loafers? Romney tells her to call the governments 211 FEMA emergency number.
As for Kanye West, as Obama said he's a jackass. He was a jackass in 2005, still is today.

The situation was stacked against Bush the moment the levy broke and New Orleans started to flood. In my opinion, it's hard to say that Bush didn't handle Katrina the right way, because there were not other situations of a major city flooding in which to have judge and compare the response to prior city flooding to that in New Orleans. This was the first time something like this happened. Is Issac would have caused levy breaches, and New Orleans flooded, Obama wouldn't get any critic even if the federal response time was double that of Bush. Katrina was nothing but a political football in which to nail Bush. It was a no win situation.
p allen "So Romney is a hero for going to N.O.L.A. while Obama is inconsiderate for not going until Monday?"
You tell me allen. If the roles were reversed, how would the media be presenting it if Romney went to Texas while Obama went to New Orleans?
p allen "Conservatives are hamstrung with the idea that government is not the answer to the problems that the American people might face."
When has government proven to be the answer allen? Furthermore, conservatives are for limited government, they aren't anarchists who believe in no government. I know you believe in the government as being your brother's keeper and such, but conservatives believe in self reliance whenever possible but also open to help their neighbors in need who can fend for themselves. Maybe Obama can invited some people impacted by Issac to one of his $30k a plate fundraisers with his hollyweird celeb friends? Maybe Michelle can feed those who are homeless with some grub from her veggie garden or something. Interesting that back during the after math of the Joplin Missouri Tornado, Obama never said anything about there not being any Republican victims or Democrat victims. Maybe I missed it.
p allen "After Katrina the conservatives blamed the democrat governor and mayor. "
Duh, and liberals blamed Bush. Blanco was the governor of Louisana and Nagin was the Mayor. Each state is a microcosmic of the federal government. The Nation guard in Louisiana could have been deployed days before the hurricane struck to evacuate the city. Blanco chose not to do so. Facts are facts.
p allen "Most shockingly they blamed the people for not doing enough to save themselves.
When people knew a hurricane was coming at them that was at Cat 5, and many chose to stay. Yes they should be blamed. Those who wanted to leave but didn't have a way out are not to blame. People who live in Tornado Alley in the mid west are very well schooled in how to protect themselves. They have underground shelters, weather radios, canned food, bottled water and a weather radio etc.

At least he was there. What was Obama's excuse again? If Romney didn't go, then you would have said that it only proves that Romney doesn't care about the poor and "brown folks" in New Orleans and Louisiana.
I am absolutely shocked in reading this blog. Gobsmacked! Just reading your profile which say's you "don't subscribe to political correctness." You've completely abandoned US history of all American people, especially your own. When black people were trying to get into schools in the south and masses of white people were supporting that, do you not realize that they were considered being political correct? Black conservatives (for some reason seem to be embarrassed of their history) are letting down the people who fought and suffered for the sake of "political correctness". Have fun mocking the honorable side of America. I guess you are against positive discrimination too.

Maybe you can tell me about my history that I don't already know. Are you black? Just curious. I would tend to think that my history is the history I've lived from the moment I was born until now, just being obvious.

Being against racism isn't about being politically correct. I don't know where you got that comparison from, but it doesn't hunt. If you're trying to race bait, you are definitely not doing a good job at it.

Well failed race baiter, you shouldn't assume you know me or how I think or who I support. It's because of several blacks like Booker T Washington and Frederick Douglas that I have have my views. Sorry, I am not a typical progressive subservient black sheep, but then again I kind of enjoy being critical thinker. Once agin, race baiting doesn't work with me, you have to approach me with arguments that are fact based one on one. I don't do the group think thing very well. You have a stereotypical view of conservatives who are black, that's frankly your shortcoming not mine. If you want to feel comfortable in your ignorance, hell who am I to stop you.
At least Romney toured the affected areas unlike the head of FEMA(Obama). It's like Obama has ot be forced to do anything if it involves him or something else.
Th emedia tried to put it all on Romney and have him cancel the convention for the small storm of Isaac. But Obama sure had time to fit in a Ohion before he even thought about going to visit Louisiana. Kind of like when he was making everyone in Ireland believe he was half Irish while boozing and smoozing in Ireland for the media hounds while Joplin ,MO was a disaster area after a tornado.
The media doesn't say anything when Obama takes his ever loving time about anything, yet they want Ropmney to drop everything and call off a convention. How double standard and hypocritical of them for their rock star.
