Yes I did say Chris Rock the comedian. Except for his "get a white friend to prevent from getting shot by the police", what he said in this comedy skit was pretty much accurate. If only Mr. Gates would have followed the rule of "being polite". He could have prevented his own fate. My mother told me when I was young that "my mouth would get me into trouble more so then anything else". She said that as a generalization. It wasn't because I was a smart ass. lol Listener discretion is advised, this is Chris Rock by the way.

I think the video is funny mainly because Professor Gates acted like a fool! I saw the video as more of a mockery of ignorant people not intelligent people.
I still think Chris Rock relies too heavily on racial stereotypes.
I think the smart guy should have left his crazy friend at home.

I think so too chilerkle. Unlike with the dribble Obama said, the Chris Rock video is truly a "teachable moment", because the skit does apply perfectly to Gates. People want to try and side step the fact that Henry Gates was acting like an ignorant fool. The Chris Rock skit was funny, but Chris Rock's career would be over in a nanosecond if he had to be funny without the use of race chilerkle.
Your argument is that there was no "racial profiling".....The initial communication from the neighbor describes "2 black men with backpacks" who broke into her neighbors home...The police report details an officer, on the scene, who confirms (with the neighbor) that "2 black men with backpacks" formulated the basis for her initial complaint (officer Figueroa's statement). This verification seemed to be of particular importance to the officers at the scene, after Gates started to "loud talk" the sergeant...Unfortunately, "race" was interjected right from the start...Would the neighbor have immediately considered this a possible "break in" if the identified men were white?.. Would she have paused before placing the 911 call?.. Would she have looked more closely and further determined that it was indeed a middle aged man and a driver who were "breaking in"?.. Would she have concluded that the man was possibly the owner and dispositioned her 911 call differently?...If these potential bad actors were White, would she have phoned the police and stated that "white guys" were breaking into the neighbors home??...These become legitimate questions because the neighbor specified "2 black men" as a basis for her call. Was this a case of racial profiling? Consider the neighbor's reaction. I'm not talking about the aclu or wikepedia definition of "racial profiling" here. I refer to the the root meaning of the two words. Racial profiling is something done by most of us at some point. The neighbor's assumptions that this black person was not the owner (and therefore, a more likely thief) is the basis for this entire fiasco...The positioning of the 911 call may have formulated the premise for the police officer's doubts when questioning Gates. Hearing the description of the complaint may very well have heightened the emotions that led Gates to start acting in a defiant manner..I'm not passing judgement on the neighbor here but "racial profiling" is not simply a police action. "Race" contributed to the neighbors assessment of the situation. That's clear in the manner in words she uses to describe the suspicious nature of the activity which she observed.
I don't care Gates still should have acted like he had some sense and calmly followed their instructions.
Speaking of racial crimes. There is a story of a young black girl whose been raped by four black youths. How come that story isn't getting as much circulation as the assclown Gates' stupid and unnecessary altercation with the cops!

And to add insult to injury her Liberian family has disowned her over an incident that is of no fault of her own.
You'd think a black president would show concern over a victim of a real crime and not a fool whose a victim of his own stupidity!
According to the Police Transmissions, Crowley radioed that Gates was "uncooperative." Professor Gates admitted that days ago.
It has been reported and repeated that Gates refused to identify himself. If the radio transmissions given to the media are uncut and reflects "real time", Sgt. Crowley radioed that he had Prof. Gates identification within "30 seconds" of his encounter with Gates.
Approximately 40 seconds later another officer (whom I assume is Off. Figueroa) tells the dispatch, "I'm off on Ware St. with 52" (52 has been identified as Crowley).
So, just as I pointed out on the other thread, by the time Off. Figueroa had arrived Crowley had already identified Gates as the resident of the home.
So how, and why does Figueroa write in his report that Crowley was asking for "information" that he already had? And, why would Figueroa write in his report clear language (eg.."NO I WILL NOT") that implies that Gates refused to identify himself???
Also in the transmissions, both the police dispatch and the caller, Ms. Whalen, clearly state the 2 men had "suit cases", not that they were wearing "backpacks", and that neither the caller or dispatch knew the "RACE" of the men. So why would Sgt. Crowley write in his report Whalen said they had backpacks and were Black???
I think Crowley has some "splainin' to doo"!!!

The Liberia girl was from a culture that blames girls for being raped. I wish they would stay in the Islamic world. Iran has hanged over 4000 males and females for rape and sodomy. In Iran guards marry girls, then rape them, today.(Muta marriage)

Thats right Corey. The whole claim by Henry Gates of being "racially profiled" has been shot to high hell thanks to the release of that tape. It also support my claim along with others that Gates is not only a bitter racist but a paranoid , self victimized, oversensitive crybaby.
