When did Muslims become classified as a race?
Apparently to some liberals like Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC and NBC News, A Muslim and dark skinned Middle Eastern person are interchangeable. I hear this claim a lot by libs. If a person is against Islam, the knee jerk reaction by them is to call that person a racist. Andre Mitchell had on her show Friday Republican Congressman Dan Lungren from California. They were talking about Congressman Peter King's hearing on radical Islam in America. Andrea's initial statement during the interview made herself look very stupid, but Congressman Lungren response just really made her look even that much worse. Since this interview took place on MSNBC, the damage to Mitchell will more then likely be minimum due to so few people who actually watch MSNBC. This interview still however highlights just how clueless this woman really is.
I guess it must have escaped Andrea that there are white Muslims in the world also. It was funny how Andrea brought up the names of all the racially segregated caucuses in order to some how make a point about an issue that had nothing to do about race. For the racially segregated caucuses to come out and speak out against King's hearing should speak more in the negative about them, then it ever could about the hearing itself. The true story that went right on pass Andrea's nose is the fact that there is open racial segregation going on in 2011 in America in congress. So much for journalistic awareness on Mitchell's part.

Islam is a religion. There are people of all different races and ethnic background who do practice Islam.
I had a heated debate years ago with a black man about the time when Jesse Jackson led the charge to have Don Imus fired for making jokes about Rutger's women basketball team from referring to them as "nappy-headed 'hos".
I asked how this differ to the time when Jackson made antisemitic remarks against Jews and New York City when he referred Jews as "Hymies" and NYC as "Hymie Town". His response was Jews are not a race. He is partly correct.
Jews and Judaism are two different things. Jewish people are considered an ethnic group just like the Celts. Judaism is a religion practice mostly by Jews.
A fried of mine who is Muslim, American born and white, told me a story one time when she visiting relatives in Oklahoma, she was driving one day wearing her hijab, with her children in the car, some person tried to run her off the road.
She tried to report the incident to the police and they told her that there was nothing they can do about it.
Like that little girl said to the then attorney general, why does it have to take a death of an innocent victim to get on the case?
If my friend and her children were killed on that road in Oklahoma, would the authorities take notice?
Since I am a Mormon, can I get protected status too and have a card labeled "race" I pull out and flash whenever I want something or want to complain?
If a mainstream media persona like Mitchell makes a mistake like that, then see, we can't trust them to tell us about Islam.
Not only is Muslim not a race as far as Black, White and Arab goes but some Muslims are in Iran, Iranians are "Persians" not Arabs, Indonesia has the largest Muslim population but as far as I know, they are Far East Asian/Pacific Islander looking, you know, similar to Japanese/Chinese/Vietnamese etc. If it weren't for the great population in Indonesia, the religion of Islam would be much smaller. Then, you've got Pakistan/Indian people and probably other cases, Turkey is in Europe, etc. I don't even know what "race" you call these people. Arabs from what I know are actually "Semites" as the original Jews back in the days of Moses were "Semites."
I hear a few times, that Fox News is now partially owned by Saudi Arabians. I don't know too much about this but I hope we can trust them to continue to tell us truths about what is going on.
White liberals, such as Ms. Mitchell never met a minority group, whom they couldn't manipulate. Since the triumph of the Civil Rights Movement, they've been concentrating heavily on exploiting the so-called "victimization" of blacks, Then moved on to hispanics, then gays.
Now it's muslims! Only they're not the least bit concerned about which ethnic groups practice Islam as a whole, but simply because the racial make-up of the marjority of terrorists who perform the most violent crimes, happen to be "brown skinned"!
Do you think that most of the members of the liberal Democrat party, Hollywood colony and rep. Keith Ellison would be banging this fallacious drum of "muslim discrimination", if the marjority of violent killings were being executed, primarily by blonde and blue-eyed muslims of nordic descent?

That was very wrong for a motorist to have done that. I have to admit, I have the urge to run people off the road who still have Obama bumperstickers on their cars, but I control my urges.lol Seriously, it normally does take the death of a person for police to do anything, because a death of a person from a crime simply can't be dismissed or ignored. That is normally why death threats normally just get blown off until the threat is acted upon.
I can think of an answer politics as usual. Muslims are not a race just like Hispanics are not a race.
Most of the so called hispanics in Central and South America are of mixed ancestry.
I don't like how Muslims are being used as a cudgel to silence dissent against the possible implementation of Shariah Law.

How can muslims scream racist when we want to stop them from building a mosque to show their victory in NYC, but we cant say they are racist when they refuse to let a church be built in Mecca? Bunch of bomb happy hypocrites, thats what muslims are!
