The Chair got knocked out last night by Mitt Romney

All I can say after watching the first presidential debate between Romney and Obama last night is "wow". Momentum in a campaign can change on a dime. I remember when Herman Cain was at the top of the polls during the GOP primaries. The momentum was clearly on his side. He made one mistake though. He accepted an invitation to a Jackson- Douglas style debate from Newt Gingrich. Even though it was a friendly debate, Newt completely dominated the debate. From that point forward Newt started to surge in the polls at Cain's expense. Last night was a terrible night for Barack Obama and a potential momentum changer. It's not just me saying this. Even Obama's most die hard loyalists were horrified at how poor Obama did and wonders what's next going forward.

James Carville said on CNN last night that "Mitt Romney brought a CHAINSAW to the debate".

The Washington Compost had to give the debate to Romney.

Liberal columnist Andrew Sullivan over at the Daily Beast said while blogging the debate live that "It was a disaster for Obama.

Obama's bleached blond pom pom waving cheer leader Chris Matthews over at MSNBC was beside him wondering "What was going on".

No talent comedian and brainy smurf pseudo intellectual Obama supporter Bill Maher tweeted after the debate  "Obama Needs a Teleprompter"

I don't know why those on the left and even some on the right were so shocked at how good Romney did and how bad Obama was.  Romney had to contend with some very good and hungry candidates less then a year ago in the GOP presidential primaries. Obama faced John McCain in the presidential debates, but that's not saying much. is it? Four years ago, the only somewhat real competition Obama ever faced was Hillary Clinton. Obama has never debated a strong debater in his life. Now compound that with him not having any facts on his side to either defend his record nor promote it, it's easy to see how last night happened. So many people on the left from the media, his supporters and political pundits hyped Obama to almost intellectual god like status, but the hype was based on nothing. The end result showed itself last night against Governor Romney.

I watched the debate last night, and Romney did hand over Obama's ass.

While I was watching the debate, I cannot help but notice Obama's appearance. I joked that he looked like Richard Nixon. My friend reminded me that he doesn't look anything like Nixon. If they were to read between the lines and knew what I was talking about, I was referring to Nixon during the Nixon/Kennedy debates where it looked like Nixon had not slept and had a five o'clock shadow.

While Romney was preparing for the debates, Obama was out "partying" by making other engagements with appearances on "The View", "Late Show" and neglecting his responsibility to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister.

This morning, I saw one commentator expressing that Obama will bounce back in the debates. He gave examples that former presidents like Reagan and Bush Sr. did stumble on their first debates and bounced back. Only Bush Sr. did not win re-election.

I am a Republican voter and will be voting a straight Republican ticket in November. But, I'm warning Republicans on as many on-line outlets as I possibly can. Romney falsely represented many of his own proposed policies. Even though Obama looked like a wimped out chump last night, the left is going to jump all over Romneys' multiple positions and flip-flops.

Independent voters don't like to be lied to. A good friend of mine, who says he's an independent voter, was in Los Angeles at the Jay Leno show when Romney said his plan would not cover pre-existing conditions. We watched the debate last night at his mothers house. We all nearly fell out of our chairs when Romney said his plan does cover pre-existing illness.

The health care issue is what scares my buddy's mother. What scares me is Romney will not say what's in his tax plan. Everybody knows there has to be cuts, but I would rather know now and prepare, than not know and get caught up. And if you look up his tax cuts the CBO says a “baseline” for federal spending over the next 10 years that includes a twenty percent across the board tax cut reduces revenue by $5 trillion. But he says that it's not his plan. I know Romney is prone to making awkward statements. But he should not give the left fodder to brand him as a liar.

It was pretty great. Obama obviously had been working on answers for Romney's policys as they were known last week. Romney comes out and reverses and says the opposite of what his policys are so Obama is left with nothing. Obama wasn't prepared for such a huge change. GENIUS!

Appearance is everything. It doesn't matter if Romney says things that aren't true. No one cares as long as we get the black man out of the White House. Then we can get back to business!

VOTE!

T.J.;" I know Romney is prone to making awkward statements. But he should not give the left fodder to brand him as a liar".

Kind'a late for that T.J.
Newt Gingrich called Romney a liar back in January of this year. It's rather nice to read a Republicans point of view who's actually well informed enough, and is willing to admit that Romney was lying.

I'm obviously not a Romney supporter. Yet, it's well known that Mitt Romney constantly changes his positions, play's fast and loose with facts, refuse's to outline and explain his tax plans, which makes him extremely unpredictable. You're right to say that most people aren't fond of politicians (or people in general) who lie to their face.

Raging Storm(front);"No one cares as long as we get the black man out of the White House. Then we can get back to business!".

The exact sentiments we've known many on the right have had all along...

Have you heard the latest? Former VP Al Gore explained that the reason why Obama did terrible last night was because of the high altitude while flying on Air Force 1 and the climate in Denver affected his thinking.

I think Gore is right! This morning, Obama claimed that it was not Romney that he was debating last night. I think the atmosphere gave him dementia.

Lousy cheating liberal devils have faked last month's job report. Obama and his minions have joined league with the Department of Labor Statistics in a attempt to steal the 2012 election. The BLS has become a propaganda arm of the Obama regime and should no longer be trusted. Unemployment, welfare payments, food stamps and poverty has skyrocketed under Obama. According to the top economic experts, the actual unemployment rate is about 22%. No net job creation has occured, and job losses continue. The country is falling apart and Obama is attempting to steal the election. Dont let it happen!

Man, a lot of us actual conservatives are pretty angry with Mitt's performance. He either moved every policy towards the centre or was lying. I'm unhappy with both options.

The rule of politics, and I do not always agree with it is to capture your base be it on the right or the left and then move to the center to capture the independents to gain the majority. Most of Romney's speech was was centered on conservative themes Rod. The part he talked about reaching across the aisle to get things done did my my stomach turn also though considering the fact that Obama, Pelosi and Red shut out the GOP for 2 years when he was sworn in.

Truth to liberals is like sunlight to vampires. They fear it and try avoid having to deal with it. Just like in the debate. Obama kept repeating the lie that Obama want to raise taxes on the rich by 5 trillion dollars. Even after Obama called him out on it during the debate, Obama is again right back at it using it. The puffed jobs numbers won't last. Romney is already aware of how the Labor fudged the numbers using the household survey which is rarely used. Romney will surely bring up the truth during the second debate unless Ryan addresses it against Biden next week. I've noticed that the Obamatrons haven't come out to try and boast about the number, even though know that against people who know better, they can't defend it.

So why has Obama been lying to them then for over four years now?

TJ "I'm obviously not a Romney supporter. So what you said in a nutshell is that Romney is nothing more then the Republican version of Barack Obama TJ? Because I can run down the long laundry list of things the Obama has said and done that completely fills in ever description you labeled about Romney. If you are an Obama supporter then you should have no problem with Romney based on your own words.
