When progressives make stupid comments about rape, does the media make a sound like they do when a Republican makes it?

Last year, it was kind of hard to forget the comments Missouri Senatorial candidate Todd Akins made about a woman's body shutting down during a rape. It was hard for people to forget it,because the media made sure that nobody would. Granted, Todd's comment was stupid, and he paid the political price for it all the way up to election day. If anyone thinks that Todd was taken to the political woodshed simply because he misspoke on a delicate issue, you would be wrong. It actually happened because Todd was a Republican who made the remarks. It's always about the double standards and fake outrage by the left and the national media. When progressives make stupid remarks, the media rarely covers them. If they do, they will try to defend it as being justified or explain it away. When a conservative or Republican makes them, the media reports on it as if it's the top story in the country. Here's a question. If a person said on national television that a woman shouldn't own a gun in order to prevent from being raped, because all that is needed is for men to be trained not to rape women, what would be your first reaction to the intelligence of that person who said that? It would be that that person is not very bright right? Well a person did make such a remark on Fox News a few days ago .Democratic Strategist Zerlina Maxwell was on Sean Hannity's show. Sean and Zerlina were discussing women and the use of firearms to defend themselves. Why should I spoil the laughs, see for yourself the exchange.

What an intellectual dynamo Zerlina is (SARCASM) So women don't need guns to protect themselves, all that is needed is for men to be trained not to rape woman. I've always said that progressives think like children and don't understand how the real world operates. Of course what she said will never register as being utterly stupid and worthy of being mocked by her fellow progressives. So are we to conclude that the only reason why women are rapped is simply because men aren't taught not to rape women? lol

Here's another example of sheer progressive stupidity on the issue of rape that wasn't reported on by the so called watch dogs in the media. Colorado Democrat State Senator Evie Hudak told a rape survivor Amanda Collins during a hearing concerning Colorado’s proposed ban on concealed firearms on college campuses that a gun would not have been able to help her during the rape. Amazing how progressive females champion a woman being able to kill her unborn baby but seems to have a problem with women carrying a gun to protect themselves, how ironic. Anyways this is Amanda Collins speaking at the hearing and her exchange with the dim bulb State Senator Evie Hudak.

Amanda made an excellent point to Ms Hudak. Evie Hudak wasn't present when Amanda Collins was raped. She can not say with any truth or conviction that if Amanda was armed, she wouldn't have been able to have stop her attacker. Amanda should have asked Ms Hudak if she's pro choice. I know she would have said yes she is pro choice. Right then and there Amanda should have said if you are pro choice, why are you trying to take away my choice on how I defend myself as a woman. Evie Hudak would have been speechless. Progressives normally are when they confronted with logical thinking and their talking points aren't able to bail them out

If Zerlina Maxwell and Evie Hudak were walking down the street and they were unarmed and suddenly, some guy comes from behind attacks and rapes them, makes me wonder if they wish they had a gun to defend themselves.

How is it that the Left seem to make excuses for the criminals but make the victims out to be the bad guy?

I believe that anyone should carry a concealed weapon. Sometimes, if you don't have one there has to be a time to improvise in order of your survival. Even if you're successful in defending yourself, there's always consequences from the victim.

My mother who is a retired nurse at the local hospital, during one late evening, one of the female doctors was walking toward her car and some man jumped out and grabbed her and forced her into the bushes to rape her. The doctor struggled and reached into her bag and pulled out a scalpel and cut her attacker in a variety of places. Her attacker was scarred but later sued her and she was fired from the hospital and her medical license was revoked by the AMA for about two years because she used hospital equipment as a weapon.

Far as I'm concerned, take every violent sex criminals, including pedophiles, line them up against the wall and shoot them. There! I support the Second Amendment!

First off Tyrone, I found a site that had the entire Hannity segment. Ms. Maxwell did not say, "that a woman shouldn't own a gun in order to prevent from being raped." She did not say, nor implied any such thing. If she had said, or implied such a thing, I would have been the first to call her an idiot. However, I listened to what she had to say (unlike you who obviously took your commands from the right-wing attackers).

She was clearly saying that men should respect a woman's person and subjective choice, and that men should not commit the crime of rape. Just as you would tell some one you know (a relative or a friend) that he shouldn't beat his wife. The smart thing to do, would be to tell him to get professional mental help so that he may learn not to beat his wife.

But as usual you've taken the "low road" in a simple attempt to equalize Todd Akins stupidity by demonizing a "librul." In your mad tirade of hate, (better still, the right-wing knuckle heads from whom you got this idiocy) you didn't even bother to listen to what Ms. Maxwell really said.

And of course it doesn't end there. You know that "far right crazed woman bashing racist wing" I've told you about? You know, the one you often make excuses for? Lo' and behold, they've weighed in with their full threats and racists attacks. Now she's being attacked racially and threatened over something some idiots wrote on a blog. The shame and irony is, IT'S SOMETHING SHE DIDN'T EVEN SAY!

I must be missing something Big Pop. What does support for the second amendment have to do with executing pedophiles and violent sex criminals? Does the second amendment take away their right to a trial? Or, do you believe that the second amendment should take away a citizens right to a trial? Frankly, the second amendment really has nothing to do with "lining people up against a wall and shooting them."

Most violent sex offenders have mental issues. Would you be willing to line up all sex offenders with mental illness and shoot them? Or would you shoot just some of them? What about husbands that beat and rape their wives...would you shoot them?

How about executing pedophile Catholic Priests? You can line them up against the wall of the church and shoot them! A good ole' blood splattered, bullet hole ridden church wall... couldn't have a better deterrent!

A report done by John Jay College of Criminal Justice say that since 1944, more than 4000 priests in the U.S. have been accused of sexually abusing young boys and/or children. You support the second amendment! Kill em', and let God sort em' out!

It's easy. Look at the heroes of the left. Dictators, Tyrants and thugs.
Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Sadam Hussein and cop killers. Who are the perpetrators of violent crimes more inclined to vote for and support ideologically? People on the left.
The left defending Bill Clinton who cheated on his wife. They defend Ted Kennedy who also was a known cheater and left a woman to die in a river. Progressives and their love for criminals seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly.

What I've done as usual allen is expose the hypocrisy by you and your fellow progressives. We've all heard the outrage towards Akins last year allen, but I wonder was the progressive outrage against Ted Kennedy when he left a woman for dead was as equal. With Akins, it was with words, but Ted actually let a woman drown. Odd how the same people who defended Bill Clinton cheating on his wife, were so supposedly upset at what Akins said. I can go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on if you like allen.

Wow, that is absolutely insane Big Pop. So by the female doctor defending herself from rape attack, she lost her job and her medical license. How in the hell could the attacker sue her? What lawyer would even take the case on his behalf? I've said for awhile now that we are living in a right is wrong and wrong is right world.

Once again as you always do allen, you are focusing on the non important parts of the topic, because you can't defend against the main theme. My concentration was on Ms Maxwell making the idiotic statement that "men should be taught not to rape". All you have to do is follow Ms. Maxwell's logic in reverse to come to her logical conclusion allen. It's that simple. If men are taught "not to rape" then in her fantasy land thinking there would be no reason for women to have to carry and firearms in order to defend themselves against a possible rape attack. Did Ms Maxwell say she supports women carrying guns allen? If she did, please present it then. If not, then I stand by what I said.

p allen "
She was clearly saying that men should respect a woman's person and subjective choice, and that men should not commit the crime of rape."

What she said was retarded. What grown men have to be taught not to rape women?! Snap out of it allen, geez! Do grown men have to be taught not to commit murder, theft etc also? Again, you are defending insanity as rational thought allen.
No surprise though. On the flip side, there are campaigns against taking illegal drugs and smoking, yet adults still do illegal drugs and still smoke. Ms Maxell's comments were uttering stupid, because adults are going to do what they want to do whether it is right or wrong , moral or unjust. Most men do not rape woman, and they were never taught as adults something that is common sense not to do.

p allen "Just as you would tell some one you know (a relative or a friend) that he shouldn't beat his wife. The smart thing to do, would be to tell him to get professional mental help so that he may learn not to beat his wife."

You simply can't just tell a man not to rape women and expect it will happen. Rape isn't about sex. Certain men have issues with control in which they use the rapping of women as a means in which to fulfill that need. Rapists are like pedophiles. They prey on their victims who appear as helpless and weaker. If a person has a mental issue with control, telling them not to act on their urge isn't going to work.

Your wrong pallen. This stupid broad said that women don't need guns. She also said she did not want to shoot the rapist because she knew him. How dumb is that? I'd shoot and kill my boyfriend, husband, uncle, father, son, any man that would dare try to rape me. There is no cure for men who rape. The only cure is death.

I was being rhetorical Allen. Sure, these monsters have the right to a fair trial like all violent criminals. It's too bad that violent sex predators who rape a woman or child and leave them for dead don't get the chair.

In one case in Tacoma back in 1989, which sparked national outrage and that led to the Sexual Predator Law, a criminal by the name of Earl Kenneth Shriner grabbed a seven-year-old boy in a park, raped and mutilated him and left him for dead. The boy survived (he later was killed in a car accident in 2005), but scarred for life. Shriner is now serving 131-year sentence.

Imagine for a moment Allen if that was your child or a loved one who went through what that boy did: you would want to do some serious harm to the person who hurt your loved one.

A co-worker of mine were discussing this and he said that if anyone harms his child, they better pray that the police will get to him before he does.

CB-"How in the hell could the attacker sue her?"

I have no idea myself. This case happened way back in 1977. My guess is once he was out on parole, he and his lawyers went out after her. That's just as ridiculous when I posted about the single mother who's dog attacked a guy who broke into her house. Or how about burglars suing the homeowner for injuring themselves in the home. Frivolous lawsuits.

Really?? So excuse me then...my bad!

I guess men can't be taught not to rape. I guess rape is something that just comes naturally to men. Moreover, Moses really must have been off his rocker by by thinking those commandments were going to be followed. Oh wait..that's right... Moses was a "librul." No wonder he thought all that stuff about not bearing false witness, not killing and coveting would be adhered to. All that time, gray hair and effort he spent on that mountain, yet it was all for naught.

And what a waist of time all those group sessions are. Big waist of time trying to teach people not to do drugs and alcohol. And what about those telephone idiots trying to keep people from committing suicide...what a waist of effort. And forget about trying to teach men not to abuse their girlfriends, wives or children. If they're going to do it, they're just going to do it...right?

So, Todd Akins was right. I guess there is such a thing as "legitimate rape."

My formative years were spent in NY, in the university system and inner city areas where a great mix of blacks and hispanics lived, and I have to say I have never been so surprised by anything as I have been by the practically unanimous black support of Obama. Even Dr. Bill Cosby. It just doesn't make sense to me, that intelligent people can't see how polarizing this president has been and demeaning to blacks. Frankly, it has me stumped. I keep waiting for the blind loyalists who are being played for chumps to finally get fed up and call this guy out. Obama never in a million years would see it coming. Now that would make my day.

Really anon 11:42? You have no clue as to why Black Americans would like the first Black President and not see him as polarizing? If he is polarizing how much responsibility do Republicans have in adding to the polarization? Also specifically how is President Obama demeaning to Black people? I happen to be Black and I don't feel demeaned so please explain to me what I'm missing since obviously I'm incapable of thinking for myself and have been fooled onto some "Democrat plantation"?
