It has been revealed that congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is "candidate number five". This is video of the press conference yesterday of congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. telling everyone that "he is not a crook", and he didn't take part in "pay to play" consideration in trying to persway Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to appoint him to Barack Obama's old senate seat. Considering that his father is a legendary shake down artist and liar, should the sins of the father manifest itself upon the son in the ways of credibility?

Yes, Jesse Jackson, Sr is the master shakedown artist, but I serioudly doubt Jr. would be stupid enough to allow himself to get a shakedown treatment.
The funny thing in this whole scandal is how the lamestream media barely points out that Governor (soon-to-be-ex)Blagojevich is a democract. They only mentioned that he had roots in the party. However, when Ted Stevens screwed up, it was plastered everywhere that he's a Republican.
I am not going to gloat on this because all politicians are capable of corrupt behavior, but something stinks in Chicago politics and has extended to the state capital.
I can tell you why I don't like this man being considered for the Senate:
Voted in favor of allowing minors across State lines in circumvention of laws
requiring the involvement of parents in abortion decisions by voting NO on S 403 that was introduced to prevent this.
Votes against military spending consistently.
Voted NO on a bill to enhance support and work opportunities for families with children, reduce welfare dependence, and control welfare spending".
Voted to prevent bill that imposes a means test for individuals wishing to file for bankruptcy. The means test determines whether the individual would be allowed to file under Chapter 7, essentially exonerating their debts after
they have liquidated their assets, or if they would be forced to file under Chapter 13, requiring them to pay back creditors on a court approved time table.
Voted against this bill that increases detection agents for explosives; expands deportation of criminal undocumented immigrants; provides more funding for deportation of suspected terrorists; allows suspected terrorists to be denied asylum; prohibits terrorist groups from fund raising in the U.S.; and limits death penalty appeals, among other provisions.
Voting record favors open borders on immigration issues.
Voting record indicates he favors minorities being treated as victims instead of people of sound mind & able bodies.
Voted against a bill that provides individual private property owners with access to both local and federal courts when bringing forward civil rights cases concerning their property.
Voted against declaring English as the official language of the Government of the United States.
Voted against a bill that marriage in the U.S. consists only of the union of a man and a woman.

The media hide the party affliation of his Lt. Governor when it was revealed that he was having an affair. The former gay love gov Jim McGrevey was never mentioned as a Democrat either. The facts speak for themselves allen. Whether you want to accept it is an entirely different story.

Very good point allyHM. I read the story by the Associated Press on the "questionable associations of Obama". I wonder where was the AP when Obama was running for President? Now all of a sudden, some in the media have discovered journalistic salvation. They know they damaged their reputations, but it is to late. If the media is attempting to hide that Blagojevich is a Democrat, they're not doing a good job. Every person that voted for, or against Blagojevich knows that he is a Democrat. You know that Blagojevich is a Democrat. He ran for office as a Democrat. With all of this known, how does the Democratic Party or the so-called "Main Stream Media" benefit by not identifying him as a Democrat?

Sorry man, I took mine off many moons ago. Some years ago I feared walking through the rural area's of the south. And to some extent, just taking a stroll through some suburban area's right here in Michigan. Fortunately those days are gone and much of the overt prejudice I once faced has subsided.
