A conservative's day in paradise Part 2

Tomorrow is the birthday of Ronald Wilson Reagan. I'm going to create another video just to reflect and share with everyone why I have such a deep admiration for him as a person and as a president. Liberals have a hard time comprehending why conservatives hold Ronald Reagan as the "gold standard" for conservatism. It's really not that hard to figure out. Let me use the owners of the Ropewalk as an example. Marc and William took a chance in creating the Ropewalk Tavern many years ago. These two brothers believed in themselves and ceased upon their entrepreneur spirits to take a risk, and their risk has paid off many times over for them. Reagan embraced free market capitalism and the spirit of individuals to empower themselves. Barack Obama like most liberals are the complete opposite. They believe that the government should be all powerful and not the individual, because the masses are to incompetent to do for themselves. People ask me why I'm conservative. I didn't wake up one day and say "I think I want to be a conservative". I just believe in the power and spirit of the individual and not the government like some people do.

"If I help him, he will help me"? This is the stark contrast between liberals and conservatives. Conservatives believe in helping themselves, liberals believe that the only entity that can help them is the government via the president, governor or mayor as this Obama supporter stated. President Reagan said it best "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'"

Thank you for posting that great video of Reagan. What an inspiring man! I'm so grateful to have had a president like him. Who knows if we'll ever have another Reagan.

Thank you Robyn. I believe from every era a Jimmy Carter rears its ugly head, a Reagan counter balance must follow. Obama is the new Jimmy Carter, and I wouldn't be surprised if the next generation Reagan conservative will be known to us all in 2012. Reagan made people proud to be Americans. That is what was so great about the man. Reagan was all about American pride and the can do spirit. We don't hear any of that from Obama, because Barack has contempt for the very essence of American exceptionalism. I was 8 years old when I heard Reagan gave his inaugural address, and I impressed even at that young age. Reagan spoke to the people was individual unlike Obama who speaks down to the masses. He was truly a great man and a leader among leaders.

Oh boy... I don't know where to begin on this one...

First off, I'm glad you had a good time at the celebration. However, you must not get out much being that you were so "thrilled and excited" over a birthday celebration for a "dead" guy... and Ronald Reagan to boot!

Yet, what puzzles me is why you continue to post the video of the woman saying that she need not worry about "gas for her car or mortgage payments." We can haggle all day over what she might have meant, or what "you believe" she implied, which in fact the reason for my concern.

What concerns me is the "image" that you're promoting. We all know that 90% (or more) of Blacks voted for President Obama. The fact that the video shows a "black woman" is definitely not a "by-chance-occurrence." What you're promoting is a prejudicial stereotype.

Here's a woman that believes that the blacks will take over if Obama won the presidency. Assuming that she "really" believes it, there's no doubt that she fears blacks, and believes that blacks will do her personal harm. Thus, not only are [some] whites promoting this silly idea...SO ARE YOU!!!

Here's the rub... Here's a video showing Muslim McCain supporters who were "OFFENDED" by a negative depiction (stereotype) of Muslims.

What this shows is that a group (or a minority group) can support a political candidate without stooping to the oversimplified negative conceptions of the fringe elements.

Still, it is true that "SOME" Muslims are radical terrorist types. However, the Muslims in this situation were highly offended that someone would stereotypically demonize them and their faith. Still they stood by the candidate [John McCain] that they believed was best for the country and themselves.

So, if Muslims can reject the negative stereotypes, why can't you?

Let me ask you this.. In the midst of a political campaign or rally, have you ever seen a Conservative Hispanic use a depiction of Liberal Hispanic illegally scampering across the U.S. border??? Do Conservative Jews depict Liberal Jews as greedy money grabbing hordes???

The fact is you don't need to use negative stereotypes. Yet by using such depictions, it makes you appear patronizing and groveling to be accepted by your so-called mentors.

p allen " Oh boy... I don't know where to begin on this one..."

You remind me so much a groundhog allen. You stick your head out from time to time.

p allen "First off, I'm glad you had a good time at the celebration. However, you must not get out much being that you were so "thrilled and excited" over a birthday celebration for a "dead" guy... and Ronald Reagan to boot!"

People celebrate Dr. Martin Luther Kings birthday as well allen, and isn't he a DEAD GUY as well genius? Are most of the people who are celebrated during black history DEAD PEOPLE also allen? That was way too easy allen.

p allen Yet, what puzzles me is why you continue to post the video of the woman saying that she need not worry about "gas for her car or mortgage payments." We can haggle all day over what she might have meant, or what "you believe" she implied, which in fact the reason for my concern.

There is really nothing to be puzzled about allen. That woman symbolizes the typical liberal Obama supporter. What I mean by that is that they believe as you do that the government is suppose to provide for them and "if you help him, he will help you". Am I wrong allen? This isn't rocket science allen. Obama doesn't inspire people to reach their fullest potential as individuals. He gins up division among race and class warfare. Where is the inspiration in demonizing Americans who have achieved the American dream?

p allen "What concerns me is the "image" that you're promoting. We all know that 90% (or more) of Blacks voted for President Obama. The fact that the video shows a "black woman" is definitely not a "by-chance-occurrence." What you're promoting is a prejudicial stereotype."

You and Chris Mathews seem to have a lot in common as fellow liberals. You both are suffer from SOR "STUCK ON RACE". I've used many clips of Obama supporters of all races allen. I used the clips based on the stupidity value of the person in the video and how they help to illustrate the point I was making. You are the one like Mathews who have to make everything about RACE allen. So thank you for demostrating to people reading this what I mean. Remember a few months ago I posted a video of WHITE OBAMA SUPPORTERS in a church saying "OBAMA HEAR OUR PRAYERS". I posted the video of WHITE liberal actors and actresses in the "I pledge to serve Obama" video. So you have missed the mark yet again allen and your race cards has been null and voided, but thank you for playing it though.

p allen "Here's a woman that believes that the blacks will take over if Obama won the presidency. Assuming that she "really" believes it, there's no doubt that she fears blacks, and believes that blacks will do her personal harm. Thus, not only are [some] whites promoting this silly idea...SO ARE YOU!!!

Who are you talking about allen? Taking over? You lost me on the slow lane allen. My only problem with Obama drones are their abstract stupidity and ignorance and nothing more. I mean sure I believe they are a cancer to our country but it it based on what I said, you are the one as usual trying to make it racial allen. Please by all means allen, provide some evidence of Obama supporters who are half way intelligent and analytical.

Here's the difference. The fringe who voted for McCain are just that the "minority fringe". Most of the people who voted for McCain did so because they KNEW MORE ABOUT BARACK OBAMA THEN OBAMA'S OWN SUPPORTERS!! That is pretty dam sad allen. I know more about Barack Obama's ideology and upbringing and past them the most die hard Obama supporter!! Tell me what is wrong with this picture?! It goes back to the ignorance factor. Obama drones cried when people on the right used Obama's middle name of Hussein YET Obama supporters had no problem using his middle name of Hussein ONCE THE ELECTION WAS OVER. Talk about FAKE OUTRAGE.

P Allen "Still, it is true that "SOME" Muslims are radical terrorist types. Correction allen, it is the estimated 10 million Muslim jihdists who have demonized Islam. The facts are simply what they are. When terrorist attack after terrorist attack continues to always be committed by a Muslim, it no longer can be called "isolated", its then called a "trend".

p allen "So, if Muslims can reject the negative stereotypes, why can't you?"

What Muslims need to do instead of worrying how other perceive their faith allen is to openly denounce the jihadists within their religion that are giving it a bad name to begin with. Sounds like something they should consider doing.

p allen "Let me ask you this.. In the midst of a political campaign or rally, have you ever seen a Conservative Hispanic use a depiction of Liberal Hispanic illegally scampering across the U.S. border??? Do Conservative Jews depict Liberal Jews as greedy money grabbing hordes???"

In John McCain's president campaign, did he say anything that was derogatory toward American Muslims allen? A simple yes or not will do. You have a nack for taking things to an extreme when you don't have the evidence to back up what you say allen. It's so entertaining to watch.

CB;"People celebrate Dr. Martin Luther Kings birthday as well allen, and isn't he a DEAD GUY as well genius? Are most of the people who are celebrated during black history DEAD PEOPLE also allen?".

I thought we were talking about Ronald Reagan?? But if you must interject Dr. King and "Black History"... then okay...

When was the last time you, "felt like a kid in a candy store" or had "an AWESOME day like no other in a long while" or " couldn't wait for tomorrow morning" on Dr. Kings birthday??? I guess I missed your post about the "AWESOME celebration" you attended for those "dead blacks" during Black History month...

I'm not implying that you have to, or should feel a certain way about your personal hero's. My point merely was that you seemed so "thrilled" to attend a birthday celebration for a "dead guy."!! The point was that you should get out more...

CB;"Remember a few months ago I posted a video of WHITE OBAMA SUPPORTERS in a church saying "OBAMA HEAR OUR PRAYERS".

White supporters? Watch the video again Tyrone. The Gamaliel Foundation is a self described "multi-faith, multi-ethnic/racial, multi-political, multi-cultural" religious based organization. They hardly represent a "white"
constituency.

CB;"Obama drones cried when people on the right used Obama's middle name of Hussein YET Obama supporters had no problem using his middle name of Hussein ONCE THE ELECTION WAS OVER. Talk about FAKE OUTRAGE".

That's because you had people on the right using his name in an attempt to ridicule and demonize. The use of President Obama's middle name was no more a controversy than "RONALD WILSON REAGAN" having 6 letters (666 mark of the devil) in each of his names!!

CB;"The fringe who voted for McCain are just that the "minority fringe". Most of the people who voted for McCain did so because they KNEW MORE ABOUT BARACK OBAMA THEN OBAMA'S OWN SUPPORTERS!".

How do you know that the fringe were a "minority"? What was the breakdown?? 60/40? 55/45? 51/49???

Furthermore, how would you describe a "fringe voter?" Here's what many Republican voters openly say;

* many Republican voters believe that the president is a Muslim * many Republican voters believe he is a racist and hates white people
* many Republican voters believe he was not born in the U.S.
* many Republican voters believe the president is a socialist
* many Republican voters believe the president is intentionally trying do destroy America

I don't know what you're calling "fringe" if you can't see the madness in the above listed.

CB;"Correction allen, it is the estimated 10 million Muslim jihdists who have demonized Islam".

Are you saying that 10 million Muslims have attacked the U.S.?? I hope nope, because you would be lying!!

Right at this moment Tyrone the U.S. has roughly 100,000 military personnel smack dab in the middle of Muslim territory. So you're saying these 10 million Muslim jihadists are just sitting back and waiting for what....? the U.S. soldiers to fall asleep????

You didn't answer this, so I'll ask again...

In the midst of a political campaign or rally, have you ever seen a Conservative Hispanic use a depiction of Liberal Hispanic illegally scampering across the U.S. border??? Do Conservative Jews depict Liberal Jews as greedy money grabbing hordes???"

The answer is ...NO! You won't see nor here any other ethnic group attack there own with any conceived or contrived stereotypical notion. Tyrone, the fact is that AMERICAN BLACKS are the only ethnic group that does that!

No one asked the woman in your posted video what she meant by not worrying about gas or her mortgage. It was assumed by conservatives that she was asking for a hand out. Don't pretend as though you haven't said liberal blacks are government dependent, because you have! That video is meant to depict "Blacks" as socially government dependent...nothing else.

I can't stand the black woman in the video saying Obama's gonna take care of me. I'm like woman have you no pride and dignity.

I thought pride came from taking care of yourself. I was only a baby when Ronald Reagan was elected president of the United States so I'm too young to really appreciate him. However I know one thing for certain if the left hates someone then that person must be doing something right.

Please articulate the difference between celebrating the birthday of Reagan and any other person whom has passed away that left a positive mark on America. Other than Reagan being a peticular individual you dislike, whom are we to decide whats important for others to celebrate?
Many people do no appreciate Dr. Martin Luther Kings legacy, yet people celebrate his legacy, his birthday, and rightly so. The ones that do not will and should not effect our admiration, same with Reagan!

Allen, you are concerned about the "Image" that the lady in a video is diplaying, and somehow relating this image as a racial stereotype. It does not matter if the lady was purple and green, THE MESSAGE, and the entitlement attitude this woman displayed is the point thats made here. If this lady was white, it would be no different, at least to an objective thinking mind.
Whats really disturbing is not the fact that someone is proud of an individual legacy, but the reasoning behind relating everything under gods sun as racially motivated.
This whole notion of "blacks taking over", is nothing new, this is the pinnicle of stupidity that stems from white power, neo nazi, and some ignorant white people who have been saying for years, long before Obama. Lets not give the idiots who believe this garbage so much credit!

Allen, you asked CB if he had ever seen a Hispanic displaying negative images of "border crossings". I am a LA native and if you ever want to know what a lot of Hispanics believe about this issue, it may shock you. They are offended not by any charectar assasination, at least some are not, but more offended that they worked hard to become legal citizens only to see some get a free ride. Just food for thought.
