What does the definition of the word "sacrifice" mean to the Obamas?
I can't stand hypocrites. That would explain why I have such a low tolerance for most liberals. These people have such an annotated mindset that they can shake their finger at other people for doing something, but they never shake their finger at themselves when they do the exact same thing. Just after the Presidential Election, Barack called for " economic sacrifice in the face of a deepening financial mess". Americans have had to sacrifice their lifestyles ever since this recession materialized not because Obama told them too. Households have cut up their credit cards, not eating out as often, canceling their cable television, brown bagging their lunch etc. As we all know by now, everything with Obama is frankly just about words. I've lost track how many times Barack has been on vacation just in the month of July. Here is why Barack and Michelle Obama are so out of touch with the American people. For her to take 40 of her friends and fly over to Spain to live it up on the tax payer's dime is beyond arrogant.
She is basically thumbing her nose at all of us. Even Bill Clinton once said when he was president "I feel your pain". What has a lot of people pissed off at Michelle is that she not only is splurging on the tax payer's dime during at time of deep economic hurt among the citizens, but she is doing it overseas instead of on American soil. I frankly don't know what is so fascinating about the beaches of Spain. Maybe she and her click decided to fly off to Spain on Air Force 2, because Spain now has a socialist government. I don't believe that she cares one bit about this country or it's people. Michelle said the following at the University of South Carolina back in 2008 "
"It's easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions, it makes you feel justified in your own ignorance...That's America"
Barack once said that "Americans are stretching every dollar in these economic times, and they should expect their government to do the same". I guess something got lost in translation between himself and Michelle.

Michelle Obama is doing nothing no different from any of her predecessor's. If you and I should be around to see a Republican/conservative in the White House, you best bet the first lady will be under constant attack from the left.
It's a shame how political partisanship has convinced pundits and many American voters to demonization, and almost to the point of criminalizing the opposing parties actions. I pity all other first ladies that come after Michelle Obama.

When did Laura Bush, Barbara Bush or Nancy Reagan or for that matter Hillary Clinton went on vacation overseas while inviting 40 of their friends living it up in luxury while the country was going through a deep recession allen?

I don't because the other first ladies and even presidentS who came before Obama and Michelle exercised common sense, and sympathized when the American people where going through tough times. From a Public Relations aspect they were smart enough to know the backlash that would happen if should Americans they were tuned in to what they were going through.

Have you EVER heard the media get on Hillary or Michelle "Antoinette" 0bama for anything that'd cloud or shift the daily spoon-fed of the crafted paradigm? No. You won't either. Do First Ladies and Presidents deserve vacas? Yes, they've a very tough job in the world and need downtime like anyone else does. We've reached a boiling point in this country like I've never seen. You're right, this isn't about partisanship: it's about PRINCIPLE!

Let's let that go, but DARE expects us to make sacrifices and SHE gets a globe-trotting pass? The NY Daily News had a full page ad of the Wise Potato Chip Co. celebrating this monumentous (sp) occasion. While the world goes to hell on a Otis elevator traveling at warp speed, this made me laugh: no one cares about what this president's doing to the country via Soros, but let's have a giggle at the 90 yo bright orange snack food having a birthday, because that's what really matters. CB: good points, now I saw the "Tom" part, yes, I am grateful that in the eyes of conservatives from Rush to Conservative Brother, thanks to God but for the wrong reasons, yes, I heard the call in to El Rushbo, still the best, also I read the "Tom" part in the comments, I know on the internet, I'm not sure how, people can see what websites they might go. Now, those who follow me, want this thing to be about age but in my youth, probably relatively minor problems but still, I had to a degree have to suffer under the law and not entirely unjustly. But those who might know where I go have done wrong too. The constitution protects us against bigotry in some cases, we are protected against discrimination based on "country of national origin, skin color, religion, handicap, age, sex", I may be missing one but those are the basic ones. Hey, those from my home state have committed vile acts of discrimination. I had to squirm in the past and justice for all demands that they owe up to wrongs done and I think that is the lead here with the "birthday" talk which I am missing completely as to where the original conversation came from. Look Misseye, Laura Bush, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are all grown up women. On the personal level the should be able to defend themselves, their actions, and their comments.
My point is the idea that the first lady of the United States is somehow fair game for hate speech, dehumanization, fabrication and taunt. To criticize her actions is not the same as creating lies (40 friends) or a prominent writer who writes for a major web log opines that the first lady a "bitch." Or a highly rated talk show host attempting to convince her audience that the first lady is "trash."
Truthfully Misseye, it realy doesn't matter to me what Americans say about the first lady. I'm simply pointing out that it's getting nasty and will get nastier.
At one time in this country the wife of the president was considered to be "off limits" to insults or scrutiny of any kind. Now both sides (right and left) are taking low-brow shots at the first lady of the United States. Someday it will get the point where the first lady is turning tricks out of the White House! Our food bank here in San Antonio Texas has been running low for quite some time over a year, folks out of work. I've donated countless amount of canned food, even thou I was out of work for 6 months finally found a job paying much less, but everyday I thank the Lord. I think of family's kids and don't want them to go hungry. I remember my parents struggling and even went to the back of grocery store trash dumpster's looking for food. I guess my point is if the economy is going great I don't mind seeing the president or first lady taking extravagant vacations but we have been living in very tough times. Instead of Spain, Michelle Obama should be out supporting the food banks, they would be able to collect a lot more food with the first lady's help. But what do I know I'm just a arrogant American.
