Obama's $850 billion dollar "shovel ready" swindle.

I remember like it was yesterday, when congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina uttered during Obama's health care speech that Obama was lying. Of course Joe received a tremendous amount backlash from Democrats, their allies in the media and even among members of the Republican Party. It got so bad, that Joe was forced to apologize. Ever since that moment, Obama has in essence validated what Joe Wilson said that evening. With Obama, it has been nothing but lies after lie after lies on top of lies. Obama stated during his presidential campaign and after he was sworn in as president, that his economic recovery plan centered around the creation of "shovel ready infrastructure jobs".



I knew when he said it, it was never going to materialize as stated. If anything it was a pipe dream to think that mere infrastructure jobs was going to be able to jump start the overall economy. When I heard the estimated cost of Obama's "stimulus" which included the shovel ready and green job project funding, I just laughed and thought to myself that money would never be spend for it's intended purposes. Government is not exactly known for overseeing it's own actions. Well, once again I was proven right. Peter Baker is a White House correspondent for The New York Times. He wrote a detailed story about his observance and encounters with Obama. This is the part in the story in which Peter wrote that Obama said that made me just shake my head a laugh.

"Obama told me he had no regrets about the broad direction of his presidency. But he did identify what he called “tactical lessons.” He let himself look too much like “the same old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat.” He realized too late that “there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects” when it comes to public works. Perhaps he should not have proposed tax breaks as part of his stimulus and instead “let the Republicans insist on the tax cuts” so it could be seen as a bipartisan compromise. "

So, there is no such thing as "shovel ready" jobs?. It doesn't exactly take a community organizer to figure that out, or maybe it does in this case. Public works projects are planned out years in advance before they are actually started. Most of the people who construct roads, bridges, building etc are "trained" professionals. So the thought that unemployed people were going to magically be given jobs to build and fix buildings and roads was a joke. So now that Obama has come clean with what most of us already knew as being a colossal lie, the eight hundred and fifty billion dollar question is this. Where did the money go? Since the money that we as a nation don't have didn't go towards it's intended purpose, was the money fraudulently spent? Will that money ever be accounted for? Once again, the question needs to be asked "where did the money go". It's obvious that us taxpayers are on the hook in repaying the money that shouldn't have never been spent in the first place. If George Bush pulled a stunt like this, he would be demanded to account for where the money went and maybe brought up on impeachment charges for committing fraud, and that would be the appropriate action. So I wonder will the media press the issue in regards to Obama? Some how I doubt it. Since there is no shovel ready jobs, Obama needs to give the money back.



The political pundits are wasting no time addressing Obama's damaging admission. The Fox News panel weighed in on the $850 billion dollar presidential swindle.
