The progressive Belgium newspaper De Morgen goes Ape for the Obamas.
The progressive media in our country has done a pretty good job at keeping any incidents of racism or racial insensitivity committed by other progressives under raps. When we hear about any perceived incidents of racism, the left is quick to point fingers at the right without fail. They feel that because they are progressives somehow that means that it is impossible for them to be racist or racially bigoted. Well, anyone who's truthful knows that is not the case. The media can hide it's own dirt on American soil but it can't hide the acts of racism by other progressives in foreign countries. Belgium isn't exactly known as a stronghold for conservatism. It's one of the most liberal countries in Europe. The Obama's are set to visit the Netherlands Monday, so of course the progressive press there would be just as fawning and worshiping as the press here are right? Yeah, one would think that. The Belgian progressive newspaper De Morgen is under criticism for depicting Michael and Barack not as the President and First Lady of the United States but a drum roll please!

Turn about is fair play!White liberals continue to dismiss nearly every flaw of Obama while appeasing him. This is by far the more nefarious depiction I've seen of the most inept president of our society.
Yet, the liberal media is downplaying it as usual because after all, the offensive picture was not initiated by conservatives in the U.S!What hypocrisy.
Did you ever stop to wonder "why" a Belgium writer would believe it was okay to portray a black person as a monkey? Why would a writer or a newspaper approve of such a depiction should have been your first question. Yet (as usual) you attempt to find an angle that promotes an agenda for which you can attack "progressives and liberals." Allow me to take you to school and give you a history lesson...
Let us begin with King Leopold II (aka, The Butcher of the Congo), who in the mid to late 19th century ran "rip-shod" through the African continent. After several failed attempts to colonize other area's he weaseled his way to colonize the Congo. There, he and his army enslaved the native population while inflicting beatings, mutilations and widespread killing. He amassed huge wealth by exploiting the people and the natural resources. The Congo would not break from the brutal stronghold of Belgium until 1960.
Of course you'll call that ancient history. How about something more current...
Well into the 1950's Blacks were kept as exhibits in HUMAN ZOO'S in Belgium.
Even more current...
In 1997, while Barack Obama had barely started his first term as a State Senator, The European Union cited BELGIUM as being the most RACIST country in the EU.
Presently the Flemish, or Belgian Dutch celebrate Christmas with the arrival of Sinterclause and his mushed mouth whimsical assistant Black Pete.
How and why you came to equate such a photo depiction as a "liberal vs. conservative" issue is beyond me. The term "liberalism" in Belgium means something quite different than what we call "liberal" in the states. In most of Europe, liberalism typically means what's called "Classical Liberalism." I would say that it's more closely related to the American definition of "Libertarianism."
But, another question is, "did the newspaper have racist intent?" The answer is, only the people that photo-shopped, approved and printed the picture knows. However, for you to conveniently find "liberals and progressives" at fault, is yet again, just plain STUPID!
Belgium learned it from republicans in the united states. you same the same stuff on racist websites in the united states, they see it in belgium to. you dont see liberals calling obama a nigger. its republicans. the kkk votes republican. skin heads vote republican. Obama is black so why would a skin head vote for a black president. Belguim learned it from them.
Gerald T.-
Gerald T "Belgium learned it from republicans in the united states."
How could have Belgiums learned this from Republicans, when Belgium are liberals Gerald? Try to let that fact stick. This type of stuff isn't suppose to be in their DNA remember? Maybe just maybe they learned this from liberals and what they did to Bush
Just a thought
Gerald T "you same the same stuff on racist websites in the united states, they see it in belgium to"
I say that kind of stuff on websites here in United States? Oh really, what sites do I say that "same stuff" on? Please enlighten me and the people reading this. Maybe it will help jog my memory.
Gerald T "you dont see liberals calling obama a nigger. its republicans."
This is way too much fun Gerald. So liberals don't call Obama a nigger? So all liberals in your naive mind are sugar and spice and everything nice, how gullible you can be
Gerlad T "the kkk votes republican. skin heads vote republican."
You don't say Gerald
Gerald T "Obama is black so why would a skin head vote for a black president. Belguim learned it from them."
A skinhead wouldn't vote for a black man regardless of political party. Also you need to know the make up of Belgium, these people are suppose to be aligned with your line of thinking, they aren't conservatives, they are liberals.
p allen "Did you ever stop to wonder "why" a Belgium writer would believe it was okay to portray a black person as a monkey?"
That's a good question allen, you should ask him. Maybe they learned it from how liberals in America portrayed Bush as a monkey, you think? Now you wouldn't say that I'm lying in saying that liberals didn't call Bush a "Chimp", "Curious George", or a "Monkey" right? He was the last president who was featured in videos and comics as a monkey by the left correct?
p allen "Why would a writer or a newspaper approve of such a depiction should have been your first question."
Um, you left out the word "progressive" in front of the word newspaper, don't worry I filled that in for ya.
P Allen Yet (as usual) you attempt to find an angle that promotes an agenda for which you can attack "progressives and liberals."
Agenda? No allen, you guys are all about agenda. Your side envolks the race card at ever conceivable turn when legitimate criticism is levied against Obama. Silencing descent through intimidation allen. If the word racist was gathered every time a liberal used in in defense of Obama, it could rap around the planet several hundred times easy. Agenda? your one to talk allen.
P Allen "Allow me to take you to school and give you a history lesson..."
looking at the graduation rate in Detroit and you supposedly being teacher there, you won't mind if I skip class do you?
p allen "

Ok, but the newspaper is a liberal paper. This was expect from a far right leaning paper right? So this goes right back to what I wrote. Can liberals be racist or not? Apparently in this case yes they can and are. The problem is allen, certain gerbils have this laughable notion that all progressives believe in racial tolerance, when that isn't true. It's naive to even think that but some do.
p allen "But, another question is, "did the newspaper have racist intent?" The answer is, only the people that photo-shopped, approved and printed the picture knows. However, for you to conveniently find "liberals and progressives" at fault, is yet again, just plain STUPID! "
How in the hell can me finding progressives at fault being stupid when De Morgen is a PROGRESSIVE PAPER! lol I know you are an eternal excuse maker for liberals and the Democrat party allen but geez.
It got me to thinking when years ago when liberals and Obama supporters went into an uproar when "The New Yorker" posted a magazine with the illustrated cover of Barack Obama and Michelle dressed as Muslim extremists burning the Constitution and the flag in the fireplace and hanging a picture of Osama bin Laden in the Oval Office. Yet, these are the same people who had no qualms of calling George W. Bush a terrorist burning a likeness of him in town squares across the nation and claiming he and his family have ties to the bin Laden family.
Or how they criticized and called the Team Spain Olympic basketball team racist for slanting their eyes for a photo op for their preparation for the Olympic games in Beijing. Yet, liberals have no trouble of not criticizing China's history of human rights violation. It got me thinking too, would liberals ever get upset too, let's suppose if Team China were to expand their eyes vertically, making them look as if they're pretending to be a little more Caucasian and holding a dish of paella for the Barcelona games?

Tyrone, do you have the ability to comprehend? Or are you so damn hung up on associating this situation with progressives/liberals that you just can't use an inkling of common sense?
European (particularly in Belgium) "liberal/progressive" political ideology is vastly different from liberal/progressive ideology in America.
Classical Liberalism.
There are also Classical Liberals here in the states.
And HERE.
And HERE.
And HERE.
Classical liberalism is a political ideology that values the freedom of individuals — including the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and markets — as well as limited government.
I would dare to say that "classical liberalism" appears to be very much like what we in America define as "conservatism." However, unlike you, I wouldn't be so pretentiously blind to paint American conservative ideology as such, simply to attack American conservatives. Frankly, that would be rather stupid...
Bottom line, "AS USUAL", you have completely misconstrued the purpose, intentions and actions of a moronic feature, simply to mount an asinine attack. In this instance you don't get to make-up your own rules. The Belgium people and their political ideology ARE WHAT THEY ARE! You don't get to change them simply to make some idiotic point about race or racism.
The depiction of the president and his wife as "monkey's" show's where the Belgium media types are when it come to "Black People." The fact is that, the Belgium's (political ideology aside) have a long history of belittlement, lowering, degradation and debasement of blacks. Perhaps they just don't know any better. For that reason, I'm sure they would have done the same if it were you, your wife, your mother, father or any other black person.
Moreover, if you really want to witness blacks depicted as monkeys and such, visit "Chimpout.com" or "Stormfront." I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Waiting on your "Jennifer Stafano vs. Chris Hayes" story.
It's going to be a big hit on the conservative talk shows...
I used to be a Neo-Conservative then went to a Classical Liberal to were I am right now, Voluntarist. After seeing this video I am still reminded that I used to think like the person being interviewed more or less.

Hi. I just wanted to say I am a Belgian, living near Brussels, and I remember this picture.
IT WAS A JOKE. The shot is from a show called `de ideale wereld` which translates as `the ideal world`. This show is basically a satire of, well, everything Belgian. This show mocks news, politics, the weather, television, art,...
If it has a presence in Belgium, it will get mocked on this show, wether you are black or white, left or right.
So basically you are all arguing about a picture all Belgians consider fake and untrue...
