What are "cracker" counties?
What would be the response if political analyst for Fox News would have said while reporting in Florida that Obama would do well in the lower part of Florida which is mostly koon counties. That person would be fired 30 seconds after his segment ended and rightfully so by the way. Rogers Alies of Fox News would be apologizing repeatedly for what was said. Progressives would be demanding for advertisers to pull their spots from Fox News immediately. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and others in the Civil Rights industry would be calling for boycotts and protests of Fox News. Also, congress would no doubt try to get involved for grandstanding purposes. What I am saying is that it's pretty obvious what would happen if such an incident arose on Fox News. Well, lets say that the incident was reversed. Lets say that instead of the News Channel being Fox News it was MSNBC, and let's go further in saying that the person didn't call the area "koon counties" but instead referred to it as "cracker counties", and the candidate who was reported to do well in those counties wasn't Barack Obama but instead Newt Gingrich, what would be the response then? Of course I am just making this all up, I mean nobody like lets say the Politico's Jonathan Martin would ever make such a racist statement like that, right?

Here again your right-wing "mentors" have cloaked their intent. I'd bet that almost all of those right wing sites already knows that Cracker Country is a rural area of Florida established in 1978. If you look at the map that MSNBC put up on the screen, you clearly see that Tampa (where "Cracker Country" is located) is indicated and highlighted in yellow.
Take a look at their Website and see how proud they are about their heritage.
They even explain what a Florida Cracker is.

A buddy of mine emailed me This You Tube Link of a native Northern Florida Cracker which was posted in January 2010. The narrator of the video states the "Cracker dialect" is most prevalent in the same area's that Martin spoke of in his commentary. He goes on to say that he (the narrator) was raised, and has done research showing that Northern Florida is mostly occupied by those who identify as "Crackers."
As a Caucasian, I do not take offense to the term "cracker", "honky" or any other derogatory term for a white person, unless otherwise words themselves were used directly toward me personally to try and put me down.
I have no idea what "cracker counties" are, and I am not offended by it.
If we have to be politically correct because members in the black community took offense to Rick Perry's ranch, "Niggerhead", then by all means let's rename products or things that have "derogatory" words like "Cracker" Jacks, or "Cracker" Barrel cheese, and "Honky"-tonk music.

How is it that blacks,individually would suddenly take offense over the term "nigger" when it comes out of a white person's mouth especially when it is not directed toward them? I don't condone the use of it in any way, shape or form. However, most blacks I've been around have said it all the time and use it to call other blacks that. And please don't take offense because I used it in this comment.
What I do take offense to is the hypocrisy and the double-standard that goes around.

In my opinion, people are not offended when someone uses a certain word that may sound offensive, they pretend to be just to empower themselves by jumping into the "in crowd" to try and make the other feels uncomfortable and guilty.

I guess I must have started a trend, maybe I will change the word from nigger to koon. Imatation is the sincerest form of flattery I suppose. The point I'm sure other bloggers were making is the hypocrisy by the left. The word cracker is a racially derogatory word aimed at whites. You know me allen, All I am highlighting is the double standard at play and that's it. I remember what happened to George Allen and the infamous "macaca" moment. To this day I can't find a definition of the word in any dictionary. Even though the word has no definition, the left destroyed George Allen by branding him as a racist. The story here is more about how two faced progressives are on the issue of race. I just save this as yet another example of that. Are you going to tell me allen that blacks haven't used the word cracker as a racial slur towards whites?

I agree. I've never subscribed to political correctness and I won't start now. When people start to let other people dictate how they think and speak, it's over, because they freedom has just been taken.

Here is a VIDEO of whites who killed blacks. Pay close attention. At the beginning of the video it shows two black men hanging from a tree with a crowd of at least 100 people looking on. Look closer and you'll see women and children present for the lynching.

First off, a "coon" is an animal. Blacks didn't create or coin the name as a pejorative for Blacks...White people did! Secondly, an overwhelming majority of blacks could care less if a city is named "coon." However, if THIS was the city's official mascot, I'd think they'd have a problem... (the type of image that you would imagine, huh?)

The FBI has a voluntary reporting system. The numbers can be a bet skewed, although by no fault of their own.

Blacks are 13% of the population. Whites make up 77% of the population. Mathematically and statistically thinking, you can say that Blacks are more "likely" to commit hate crimes. However, reliable figures often produce unreliable statistics.
When you say that "Blacks are twice as likely to commit hate crimes", what type of impression does that give? If a black person moves into an all white area, does the chances of a white person having a hate crime committed against them double? You might think so, but "statistics" prove the opposite more likely occurs.

The term cracker is most offensive when used by a wealthy white towards a poorer, blue collar white as a term implying inferiority. Otherwise, any white, native Floridian (or, to a lesser extent, Georgian) who is offended by the word cracker used in that context is a someone who is ashamed of who they are. They are crackers. There was a baseball team called the Atlanta Crackers. There's a country rock band called Cracker. Crackers are proud to be crackers. Way damn better than being a snowbird.
School shootings, movie theatre shootings, shopping mall shootings, suicide rate, serial killers, women cheat more, cults, children kill their parents, pedophilia, and government assistance. That is all I have to say..
