Why do black progressives become unhinged while being in the presence of black conservatives?

I have no problem defending what I believe in. I can debate my positions in a rational way without demeaning others in doing so, but I can "get down in the gutter", when progressives want to take a debate or disagreement in that direction. It's no big secret that progressives of any race can act very vicious to the point of sheer instability when confronting a person of the same race who happens to be conservative. I've experienced it with blacks many times over the years. These people "aren't" as "open minded and tolerant" as they claim to be. A person sent me a story yesterday about a black female conservative in Memphis Tennessee named Charlotte Bergman who is running for congress who unfortunately decided to be a guest on 1180 WPLX radio with the host a black progressive by the name of Thaddeus Matthews. The old saying goes in life, "treat people the way you would like to be treated. That sounds about right I think, however I don't think Thaddeus Matthews understood that concept in his verbal beat down of a person who was suppose to be his "guest" on his show. As I watched this brutal interrogation aka "interview" I really felt bad for Ms. Bergman. Regardless of her political affiliation, she did not deserve to be treated like the way she was treated. As disgusting as Matthews acted during the interview, even I was shocked at how much lower he sunk when Ms. Bergman finally decided she's had enough of being verbally assaulted.

Part 1

Part 2

With progressives, their thought process if you want to call it that is based primarily on emotions. If I was the guest on Mr. Matthews's show, there would be no way in hell he would be able to do to me what he did to Ms. Bergman. It would be zero chance! I have no doubt Matthews would ever call Ms. Bergman to apologize for his behavior. He'll never do it, because in his mind he believes he was right in what he did. To him, the ends justified the means. So much for progressive civil discourse.

Very rude and uncalled for. You can disagree without all the name calling. However, the conversation began to get out of hand after Ms. Bergman refused to answer if or if not she was a supporter of the Tea Party. Still Matthews could have clobbered her position had he remained calm and collected. But by him going off he muddied and lost all credibility for his own point of view.

What a racist piece of garbage that guy was!

I just don't understand as to why most blacks, like that racist, have to think in a monolithic attitude when they expect that ALL black politicians (Democrats and Republicans) must think for the black people first before any other group.

As for the woman, as she trying to explain, while she was being interrupted, she is representing the people (white, black, Asian, Hispanic) in her district. Nope. To this guy, namely "white folks" do not count as the people.

I would love to see you Tyrone, set up an interview and put this guy under table and humiliate him in front of his progressive audience.

Former Washington Gov. Gary Locke (D), the first person of Asian ancestry to hold a higher office in American history, no one, including the Asian community made a big deal out of it like what how others did with Barack Obama becoming the first black President of the United States.

Locke did not represent the Asian community, he represented the people of the state of Washington.

I would love to see for once if a black Rep. like Allen West, if he were to run for president and succeed, hopefully black progressives would stop this monolithic behavior.

Anon;"Washington Gov. Gary Locke (D), the first person of Asian ancestry to hold a higher office in American history, no one, including the Asian community made a big deal out of it like what how others did with Barack Obama becoming the first black President".

Really? If so, how is it that "you" happen to know this tid-bit of Washington state political history? What would make you think, or even believe that the Asian community would not be proud of, or celebrate the accomplishments of Gary Locke?

Washington state has a large Asian American community steeped in rich history, culture and pride. The Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) holds an annual event celebrating "firsts." Locke was the also Keynote speaker at the 2011 APAICS event.

So, why would you claim that the Asian community would not, or did not make a "big deal" of Lockes accomplishments, when they clearly have, and continue to do so? Why would you make such assertion and not even know if it were true?

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I think you're a perfect example of Unintentional Self-Righteous Racism. You attempted to use the Asian community as a buffer to forward your idea that blacks overreacted or, should not have celebrated the election of the first black president. Unfortunately, you were unaware that "almost every" American, and ethnic group, celebrates some kind of heritage, be they German, Irish, Polish, Arab, Asian, etc... including "BLACK AMERICANS."

For those of "European descent", what would be the need of a "first Irish, German, French, English, ect.." anything, when those firsts occurred with a generation or two of them arriving on the shores!

P. Allen-Really? If so, how is it that "you" happen to know this tid-bit of Washington state political history? What would make you think, or even believe that the Asian community would not be proud of, or celebrate the accomplishments of Gary Locke?

Because I'm from Washington! There were no reports, no tears, no celebration in the streets coming from the Asian/Chinese community. The only recognition that Locke after being elected was being reported on network television news as being the first Asian and Pres. Bill Clinton congratulating him at the State of the Union. That is just progress in America being reported.

Washington state has a large Asian American community steeped in rich history, culture and pride. The Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) holds an annual event celebrating "firsts." Locke was the also Keynote speaker at the 2011 APAICS event.

That is true that the west coast and the Pacific Northwest have the largest Asian population. So Locke was the keynote speaker at the 2011 APAICS event. I was talking about he being elected as the first Gov. of Asian Ancestry. By the way, did you hear any reports of celebrations coming from the Indian community when Bobby Jindal was elected governor of Louisiana? Because I certainly did not. I did not see it reported nationwide.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I think you're a perfect example of Unintentional Self-Righteous Racism.

Oh, and you're not? Come on, I've seen the arguments and debates you made with Tyrone over the years. And most of the time, he always talks you under the table.

Unfortunately, you were unaware that "almost every" American, and ethnic group, celebrates some kind of heritage, be they German, Irish, Polish, Arab, Asian, etc... including "BLACK AMERICANS."

And who's so much in favor of those? Liberals.
So tell me, are you in favor of Black History Month? Do you think it would be racist if there was a White History Month, like most blacks said that it would be? To me, like Morgan Freeman once said, Black History Months and other groups in America should belong in American History. Why do we need to segregate every accomplishment by different groups of people who shaped our nation?

Anon;"There were no reports, no tears, no celebration in the streets coming from the Asian/Chinese community".

Wasn't it apparent that many people (of all races and creeds) felt the need to celebrate the first black president of the United States? If Asians didn't feel the need to celebrate in the same manner, hey, that's their prerogative. Yet, why would you express, and react to the celebration in "negative" terms?

People celebrate "wins" all the time. Hell, it wasn't the N.Y. Giants first Super Bowl win, yet millions of fans celebrated. Hell they even had a parade! You know what they call people who complain about others who celebrate a win? SORE LOSERS!!!

Anon;"I was talking about he being elected as the first Gov. of Asian Ancestry".

So was I!!!!

Anon;"did you hear any reports of celebrations coming from the Indian community when Bobby Jindal was elected governor of Louisiana? Because I certainly did not. I did not see it reported nationwide".

Do this anon. Google, "Bobby Jindal first Indian-American governor." If you get less than 50,000 results let me know....

Anon;"I've seen the arguments and debates you made with Tyrone over the years. And most of the time, he always talks you under the table".

I'm shocked Anon!! I never would have thought that you would agree with Tyrone over... ME?? I guess I'm no longer on your Christmas gift list also...

Anon;"Why do we need to segregate every accomplishment by different groups of people who shaped our nation?".

Frankly, we really don't "NEED" to. I agree totally. No "NEED" to celebrate "ANY" cultural ethnically centered holidays, observances or demonstrations. If it doesn't have it's origins, or was created in the United States of America, it should not be recognized.

Lets start with those noisy "Bag Pipes" they bring out every year in March. Get rid of St. Patrick's Day as it was first celebrated in America to honor "Ireland"!

And whats up with all these "China Towns" all over the country? Why do we "NEED" them? Get with the program Asians...assimilate!!!

And whats up in San Diego, CA. with the big sign as you enter a neighborhood that says, "Little Italy"???? This is America dude. Take down the sign!

Little Havana, gone! Poletown, gone! Germantown, gone!

And while we're at it, why do we need to "segregate" along religious lines? Out with Ramadan, Hanukkah, Shavuot, Zarathosht Diso, Ganesha Chaturthi, Easter and Christmas!

The original religions of this land is that of the Native American. Panentheism, which connects the natural and spiritual worlds. Ghost Dance, Peyote and the Shaker Religions.

Wouldn't you just love an America like this Anon?? I can just see the jubilant smile on your face....

Anon;"Wow! The last posting by p. allen has to be the greatest collection of non sequiturs I've ever seen!".

There's only one reason why you can't see the logic in removing "all segregated cultural and ethnically centered" observances. Which by the way is what YOU proposed be done with "Black American" observances!!!

There's only one reason for you to ask;"So tell me, are you in favor of Black History Month? Do you think it would be racist if there was a White History Month, like most blacks said that it would be?".

You're "NOT" in favor of a "Black History Month", am I right? You made the statement, AND AGREED WITH YOUR ASSESSMENT! Yet you claim the ridding the country of "ALL" segregated observances is "NON-SEQUITUR"?????

The reason is, you don't want to remove "ALL" ethnically centered observances. You just want to remove the ones for Blacks! Yet I'd bet you'd lie to my face and claim that different. At least the liberal white "pretends" and goes along with it. You white conservatives treat Blacks like you still own us.

Ann Coulter was wrong! Your Blacks are way dumber than the liberals' Blacks.
