Foreigners who come to America don't see themselves as victims, that is why they get ahead.
Many blacks hold a resentment towards foreigners who come to the United States and end up becoming far more successful then they have. About twelve years ago, I use to work with a guy who immigrated here from Nigeria. Me and him got into a conversation one day, because this guy use to work 12 hour days constantly. So I asked him why is it that he worked so hard. He told me that he wasn't afraid of hard work. He told me that back in Nigeria, he use to work harder then he did now. He said he came to the United States to better his life. I was amazed at what he told next. In the short period of time he was in the country which was about four years, he managed to buy a Mercedes and own three cabs with people driving for him. All the money he made he sent back home to Nigeria for his family. He had little respect for many blacks who were born here he told me, He told me point blank that he believed that a lot of blacks were complainers and were lazy but wanted everything handed to them, and it was crazy that he was able to come to this country and could barely speak English, yet he was more successful then blacks who were born into the opportunity this country provides. To this day, I've never forgotten what he said. He was right. Many blacks who were born as American citizens waste their lives blaming foreigners and whites for their short comings. I can honestly say that I've never hear of African immigrants in the United States claiming that. It's like I've always said. When you are taught that you are life's victim due to the color of your skin, why would you dare try to elevate yourself in life, what's the point right? Those who black and were never taught that don't have that victimization mindset, so they simply go out and succeed at life. This video I came across proves that perfectly. This exchanged happened about three years ago, but it's still relevant to this day. A self victimized black woman went into a convenience store and got into a heated arrangement with the owners of the store (who were African). The black lady for some reason didn't want to hear that the owners were from Africa. She was angry that they were in the United States and thought somehow they were stealing opportunities from blacks.

Since I live in a liberal college town, we do get a lot of exchange students from all parts of the world. The majority of them come from Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. I’ve only seen a handful of those coming from Europe and Africa. What amazes me is how there are those (namely students from the Evergreen State College) who find the time to stage rallies about how the immigration law south of the border is “racist”, yet they have a problem with those who do it by the book that come here legally and work on becoming an American citizen.

The best way for pro legal immigration folks to present this argument in a way that would completely discredit the pro amnesty crowd is to have LEGAL immigrants from South America be the face on the issue of anti amnesty. This would neutralized the lefts race baiting smear attack claiming that the only people who oppose amnesty are "bigoted white folks".

Conclusion: Blacks who come to America from other countries do not have all this emotional and mental baggage to cloud their minds and thus see and act on the many opportunities in the USA.

I know a woman who is from Iraq who is here on a student visa. Despite what is going on in her home country, she decide that she wants to work on becoming an American citizen. When she came to this country, she was settled into an apartment complex provided by student housing to house exchange students. While she was there, she shared the area from students from Latin American, but has received a lot of hostilities coming from her neighbors and being compared to as a terrorist. Every time she complained about the hostilities from her neighbors to management and the campus officials, nothing was done about it. She eventually moved out of that area.
I guess since the schools in the South Sound area is all about "acceptance, tolerance, and diversity", it only happens on-campus; what happens outside campus, you're on your own.

Wow, this lays out the liberal mindset perfectly!! Those who are successful in life are some how the oppressor and those who don't succeed are life's victims. That explains their white guilt complex and white privilege social justice foolishness progressives have ingrained in their ideological DNA. The whole Occupy Wallstreet movement was based on the demonetization of the rich by the malcontents. Progressives at the bottom are not very smart. They allow themselves to be lead around in this fake class warfare crusade by wealthy mostly white liberals who try to pretend that they are with them also in the fight against "the power".
This confirms what I suspected based on my experience in Africa and awareness of the Nigerian diaspora. It stands to reason that black people escaping oppressive governments and limited prospects abroad would have a completely different take on the general situation in the US and possibilities of working and succeeding economically than many of the unfortunately indoctrinated native-born. Since I believe there are upwards of half a million people in the States who come from Yoruba-land (which includes southwestern Nigeria), I also suspect that they accounted for at least part of the 7% of the black voters who did NOT vote for Obama in the last election, but I have no hard evidence on this point.
